Southern Illinois Herpetocultural Society is a NOT FOR PROFIT organization recently formed to provide information to anyone, friendly support to those with an interest in reptiles and amphibians, and help in removing some of the prejudices and fears which are so prevalent among the general public regarding herptiles.
Although the society was formed mainly to benefit herpers in Southern Illinois and intends to provide much information about Illinois' herps, membership is open and information available to anyone anywhere with an interest in reptiles.
There are NO MEMBERSHIP DUES, NO FEES, AND NO CHARGES OF ANY KIND FOR MEMBERSHIP! Some projects still in the initial stages (such as shows, herping trips, and other events) may require a modest fee, however such projects are NOT required for membership.
All ages are allowed, however Parental Consent is required for all under the age of 18 years. Also, special rules apply to members under 18 years and to members under 16 years.
