Futuristic Bay City - Part 1 - June 25, 2004
By: Anonymous

It was the morning of a big wedding in Bay City.  All around town preparations were being made.  The florist was loading up a van full of flowers and balloons.  The park was being decorated with ribbons and bows.  And while this was going on the horses were being dressed up along with their carriages.

All this for two people madly in love.  Hair salons across town were packed with women getting their hair done for the main event.  The airport and hotels were full of guests coming in from various locations for this sweet occasion.  It truly looked like St. Valentines Day in Bay City.

Everyone rushed around trying to get this and that done before the afternoon; no one wanted to miss this wedding.  Things were calm, fairly serene, at one household.  A woman with her belly protruding to the point of labor slowly walked around the dark-haired bride placing white pearl combs in her hair.  The room was filled with joy.  From the mirror, a beautiful wedding gown can be seen hanging from the door.

"So you are just due just about any day?" the bride asked.

"Yes, just about, who knows I could go into labor today," the pregnant bellied maid of honor answered jokingly.

A moment later a dapper looking gentleman entered the room, playing butler, "Mr. And Mrs. Carl Hutchins just arrived from Key West Madame, would you like me to see to their needs?"  Laughter broke out, for this young man was no butler.

"No," the bride and maid of honor answered in unison, "sent them up right away."

Just a moment later, Rachel and Carl entered the room with their usual elegance.

Greetings were happily thrown across the room between the acting butler, bride and maid of honor to Carl and Rachel, and back to the trio.

"My dear, you look glowing; this pregnancy is becoming on you," Rachel gasped.

"Why, thank you, but I tend to feel uncomfortable lately, swollen ankles and all.  How is Key West?  Will you be staying long enough to share the birth of my child?" the maid of honor asked.

"Hopefully, we had the Cory Mansion reopened for the month, so we should be," Carl answered.

"We’d better let you finish getting ready, I want to find that son of mine before the ceremony starts," Rachel stated leading Carl out of the room.

Sergei Razinsky began playing "Here comes the Bride," on his organ in the park.  Just on cue, the Bride slowly came walking up the aisle to her long time love.  Today they would be joined forever.  The ceremony began with the pregnant maid of honor beginning to feel terrible, she was starting to have contractions.  As she walked up the aisle, she motioned inconspicuously to the acting butler who immediately caught on to the fact that she was in labor.  The maid of honor hoped to be able to hold off on having to go to the hospital until after the ceremony to say the least.  She had waited for this wedding for the past year, since the engagement was announced.

She was beginning to cramp up even further and at the point when the priest said, "Sofia Carlino do you take Matthew Cory to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold…"

"Ugh!" let out the matron of honor, and the butler came to her side.  She was cramped to the point of being doubled over.
