SYNOPSIS

... continued from previous episode. Mulder rushes to Scully’s apartment when he realizes that she was attacked by Duane Barry. When he arrives at the scene, a police investigation is already in progress. There are signs of a struggle; broken glass and human blood dots the floor. Scully’s mother speaks to Mulder about the abduction; she describes a nightmare she experienced that foretold the incident. FBI agents are skeptical when Mulder hints that Duane’s UFO story might be legitimate. Skinner then removes Mulder from the investigation and sends him home. Meanwhile, Duane makes his way to the alien landing site. A patrolman pulls him over for speeding, notices blood on his hands and draws his weapon. But Duane pulls a gun and kills the police officer. Mulder reviews a videotape of the incident which was recorded by a camera mounted inside the patrolman’s car. Using video enhancement, Scully’s image is pinpointed - and she is alive. Mulder then reviews audio tapes of his hostage negotiations. He realizes that Duane is heading for Skyland Mountain in Virginia. Accompanied by Krycek, Mulder drives to the remote location. They are told by a tram operator that Duane is driving up the mountain using back roads. Hoping to beat Duane to the summit of Skyland Mountain, Mulder boards the dangerous passenger tram and journeys up the mountain. But before the tram reaches its destination, Krycek kills the tram operator and sabotages the controls, stranding Mulder in the process. When Mulder attempts to climb off the tram, Krycek engages the power, hoping to crush him. But Mulder outmaneuvers Krycek and continues his search. Once at the summit, he sees a blinding light pass overhead and, when he locates Duane Barry, Scully is nowhere to be found. Duane begins laughing hysterically. He describes how the aliens will no longer bother him now that they have another guinea pig. Duane’s claims are true; Scully is taken on board an alien craft and experimented on. Ova are taken, she is implanted with chips. Mulder, however, remains skeptical of Duane’s claims; he questions Duane’s sanity back at the FBI and lashes out at him during an interrogation. Shortly afterwards, Krycek conducts his own interrogation and Duane lapses into cardiac arrest and dies. Later, and Mulder discovers cigarette butts in his car - right after Krycek had been in there. He concludes that his new partner is in league with the Cigarette Smoking Man. Mulder informs Skinner that Krycek poisoned Barry and that the military is aware of Scully’s location. He believes that Scully got too close to the truth, especially when she discovered the metallic implants. Mulder concludes that a covert military operation assisted by the Cigarette Smoking Man is behind the conspiracy. Those suspicions are confirmed when Krycek vanishes without a trace. Skinner, left with little choice and direction, officially re-opens the X-Files. To be continued ...

MY THOUGHTS

This the Second part of the best three episode in the second season. The special effects are absolutely amazing again. Was it just me or did Scully even look Hott pregnent? I guess if your a Honey your always a Honey pregnent or not..
