Conclusion

It is evident that the incorporation of prayer into our public school system will only cause problems for students, as well as administrators and teachers. Imagine a graduation ceremony in which you were participating, and a group of students of a different religion were allowed to "solemnize" the ceremony with a prayer. You would probably feel resentment; or be annoyed at how their beliefs totally contradicted your own. Also, as a member of the graduating class, you could not just walk away from the scene. Such an act would only interfere with the First Amendment’s guarantee against government establishment of religion. This is just one example of how the inclusion of prayer in our public schools can have a damaging effect on everyone. Most importantly, this inclustion will be at the expense of young students, our nation’s most vulnerable class. Not only does it affect the entire Constitution, but it directly contradicts the heart of the Bill of Rights, namely our rights as individuals.
