FEBRUARY 14, 1977…
The next morning, Micky and Madison went to the hospital to visit Peter, Samantha and their new baby. The tension and the silence between them could be cut with a knife, but as they walked into Samantha's room, they both put on their happy game faces.
"Is it okay if we come in?" Madison asked quietly walking up to the bed.
"Of course." Samantha beamed, holding a tightly wrapped bundle in her arms.
"Well, don't keep us in suspense any longer." Micky urged with a chuckle.
Peter gingerly took the bundle from Samantha. "I'd like you to meet our daughter." He pulled the blanket back away from her face. "This is Melody Love. Melody, this is your Aunt Maddie and Uncle Micky."
"Congratulations, man." Micky reached out and shook Peter's hand.
"She's beautiful." Madison hugged Samantha and then kissed Peter on the cheek.
"Micky, take Peter to get some breakfast. He has eaten anything since yesterday." Samantha said.
"Sure, I could use some coffee." Micky agreed.
"We'll be back in a little while." Peter kissed his daughter and then handed her to Madison, before going over and kissing Samantha. "I love you."
"I love you too." Samantha blushed.
Micky followed Peter out of the room without giving even a backward glance towards Madison.

Madison sat down in the chair next to the bed. "She is just beautiful." She cooed down at Melody. When she looked up at Samantha, tears were flowing down her face.
"Maddie, what's wrong?" Samantha asked worriedly.
"I'm sorry." Madison sniffled, cuddling the baby closer. "This is your happy day, I don't want to ruin it."
"We're practically sisters. Now, tell me what's wrong?" Samantha ordered.
Madison took a deep breath. "I think Micky is having an affair."
"What?" Samantha exclaimed. "I can't believe that."
"I don't want to believe it either." Madison replied. "But I don't know what else to think. He's been so distant lately. We hardly talk anymore. And when we do talk, we usually end up fighting."
"Micky wouldn't cheat on you. He loves you. I know he does." Samantha stated firmly.
"I wish I could believe that." Madison sighed.

Meanwhile, Peter and Micky sat in the cafeteria. "Mick, you have to tell her." Peter stated.
"I know I do." Micky sighed. "But its going to break her heart. I don't want to do that."
"The longer you wait, the harder its going to be." Peter reasoned.
"I know. I know you're right." He took a deep breath. "Okay, I'll tell her tonight."
