~It's Not Too Late - Part 7~

When the plane landed on the island of Crete, Micky, Julia and Geary had to go through customs. “Anything to claim?” The customs’ agent asked Geary.

“No.” He leaned on the counter.

“What happened to your face?” The agent asked.

“I cut myself shaving.” Geary sighed with frustration. “Could we please get on with this? We are in a hurry.”

“Of course, sir.” He stamped the passport. “Enjoy your stay.”

“Let’s go.” Geary caught up with Micky and Julia.

They walked out of the airport and caught a cab to the American Embassy. As they wound through the villages, they saw remains of ancient civilizations, tropical beaches and a variety of beautiful landscapes. There was unique combination of tradition and history with modern life and facilities.

The press, the local police and the military surrounded the American Embassy. They got out of the cab they were immediately surrounded by a sea of people as Micky lead the way through the crowd towards the front of the building in hopes of finding someone in authority who could tell him what was happening with the terrorists and more importantly, Kris.

An American solider with a clipboard stepped in their way. “I’m sorry, you’re not allowed to go any further.”

“My girlfriend is one of the hostages. I need to know what is going on.” Micky explained. “We’ve just flown all the way from California.”

“Some of the hostages have been released and are being debriefed right now. What is her name?”

“Kristi…Kristi Blade.” Geary answered quickly.

The solider took his time looking at the list of names on the clipboard. “Are the three of you together?”

“Yes, I’m Micky Dolenz.” Micky replied. “This is my manager, Julia Parker and this is Kristi’s best friend, Geary Davis. Could you please tell us what’s going on?”

“Come with me.” He answered and then led them through the rest of the crowd and into a trailer that was being used as the headquarters. “Colonel Duke, this is Micky Dolenz, Geary Davis and Julia Parker. They are asking about Kristi Blade.” The solider said to a tall, broad man who looked like he hadn’t slept in days.

“Thank you, corporal.” Colonel Duke replied and then looked at Micky, Julia and Geary. He motioned for them to follow him into a small room that was completely taken over by a table and chairs. “Please sit down.”

“Sir, could you please tell us what is going on?” Micky asked in frustration. “What is happening with Kris? Has she been released?”

“No, I’m afraid not.” Colonel Duke rubbed his eyes. “Two of the hostages were taken by the terrorists to another location. Ms. Blade was one of them.”

“What?!” Both Micky and Geary exclaimed in unison.

“It happened while the other hostages were being released.” He explained.

“Well, where is she? What are you doing about it?” Micky stood up slamming his hands on the table.

“We don’t know where she is. And until they contact us with their demands, there isn’t much we can do.”

“This is bloody insane!” Micky bellowed, his face turning red.

“Mick, calm down.” Julia put her hand on his arm.

“No, I’m not gonna calm down!”

“I’m sorry, Mr. Dolenz.” Colonel Duke said. “Why don’t you tell us where you are staying and we’ll contact you as soon as we know anything?”

“I don’t know where we’re staying yet.” Micky grabbed Julia and Geary. “We’ll let you know!” He stormed out with them in tow.

“So, what do we do now?” Geary asked once they were out of the trailer and away from the crowds.

“We find her ourselves.” Micky stated.
