~It's Not Too Late - Part 3~

“Okay, you need to sign these.” Julia set down a small stack of papers in front of Micky. “And we really need to decide if you’re going to do that radio show.”

“Uh huh…” He stared off into space.

“Dolenz! Wake up!” She snapped her fingers in front of him.

“What?” He looked up quickly at her. She couldn’t help but laugh setting her hands on her small hips. “You’ve got it bad.”

“I feel like a teenager.” He chuckled. “Sorry if I haven’t been all here today.”

“That’s okay, I understand. I’m insanely jealous, but I understand.” She leaned against the desk. “I’m also happy for you.”

“Thanks Jules.” He took her hands and kissed them. “Do you want to come over tonight for dinner? You can meet Kris and her friend Geary.”

“Why do I get the feeling you’re trying to set me up?” She torn her hands away from him playfully.

“Now, would I do that?” He tried to look innocent. “I just thought four people was a better number than three.”

“Sure you did.” She laughed. “Alright, I’ll come for dinner. But no pushing me into anything.”

“I wouldn’t dare.” He smiled. “Dinner is at 7:30 and wear something pretty.”

----------------------------------------

Dinner was weird in Julia’s opinion although she knew that she was the only one who noticed. Micky and Kris spent the whole evening staring into each other’s eyes and Geary spent the whole evening trying everything in his power to get Kris’ attention away from Micky. In a way, Julia felt sorry for him. It was obvious that he was in love with Kris. But she also suspected that he was up to something.

“Why don’t I get the coffee and we can sit in the living room.” Micky said after the dishes had been cleared.

“I’ll help you.” Kris grabbed his hand and followed him into the kitchen.

He quickly grabbed her around the waist and kissed her fiercely on the lips. “I’ve been wanting to do that all evening.” He nuzzled her neck.

“Mmm…” She melted against him.

“Would it be rude if we just went upstairs?” He caught her earlobe between his teeth.

“Very.” She giggled. “But the faster we get in there, the faster they’ll leave.”

----------------------------------------

Meanwhile, Julia and Geary sat down in the living room. When Micky and Kris came in both looking flushed and giddy, Geary practically shot daggers out of his eyes. He quickly drank his coffee and then excused himself for the evening.

“I wonder what’s up with him.” Kris commented after he left.

“Mick, could I talk to you for a minute?” Julia pulled on his shirt. “Excuse us, Kris.”

“What is up with you, Jules?” Micky tripped behind her into the den.

“I wanted to talk to you about Geary.” She shut the door behind him.

“So, you liked him, huh?” He rocked back and forth on his heels with a stupid grin on his face.

“I didn’t get a chance to. He was too busy mooning over Kris.” She answered.

“What are you talking about?” He asked.

“He’s in love with her.” Julia stated.

“What? That’s crazy.” Micky laughed. “He’s her best friend.”

“Trust me on this one, Mick.” She said with a sigh.

“Okay, let’s say he is, what should I do about it?” He leaned up against the desk.

She took his hand and squeezed it gently. “I just wanted you to be aware of it. I get the feeling he’s up to something.”

“You’re always looking out for me.” He kissed her cheek. “How come?”

“Just protecting my investment.” She gave him a soft smile. “I’ll talk to you tomorrow.”

----------------------------------------

“What was that all about?” Kris asked after Julia had left.

“Nothing, just work stuff.” Micky sat down beside her and took her hand. Starting at her wrist, he nibbled his way up to her neck.

“Are you trying to seduce me, Mr. Dolenz?” She moved her head giving him more access to her neck.

“Is it working?” He purred into her ear.

She moved to straddle his lap. “Very much.” She cupped his face and kissed him hard on the lips.
