Micky was debriefed for what seemed like hours when all he wanted to do was see Kristi. When Colonel Duke finally let him go, he ran outside to find her. He saw Julia and ran up to her. “Have you seen Kristi?”
“Geary just took her back to the hotel.” She answered with a worried look. “They are planning on flying home later today.” She sighed heavily. “Mick, he hasn’t told her the truth. I tried to talk to her, but he practically dragged her away. I don’t think he’s planning on telling her.”
“Shit!” He stomped his foot. “That’s just great. What the hell do I do now?!”
“Go after her!” She smacked him across the arm.
“Right.” He grabbed her hand. “I might need reinforcement.” Together they ran to the hotel.

Micky and Julia were about to run up the steps to the hotel lobby when they saw Kristi and Geary coming out of the door. The four of them stopped dead and stared at each other.
“Kris, I have to talk to you.” Micky walked up the first two steps.
Geary shook his head and turned towards Kristi. “No, I think I have to talk to you first. You should hear it from me.” He looked towards Micky. “Give us a minute?”
“Yeah.” Micky nodded.
Geary took Kristi’s hand and led her back into the lobby of the hotel. “What’s going on?” She asked as they sat down.
“I love you.” He held her hand. “I’ve loved you since the minute I met you. But I haven’t been honest with you.”
“What are you talking about?” She looked at him confused.
“Micky.” He sighed. “All that stuff I led you to believe about him and Julia wasn’t true. They did have a relationship six years ago but it ended. And he hasn’t been trying to set you up so he can dump you.” He took a deep breath. “Kris, he’s in love with you and always has been.”
Kristi stared at him, her eyes growing wide. “Why did you do this to me?”
“Because I love you. I thought if you two broke up, you would come to me.” His voice cracked. “I never wanted to hurt you. You have to believe me!”
She was quiet for a few moments. “I do believe you.” She gave his hand a squeeze. “I’m mad as hell at you, but I believe you.”
“I’m sorry.” He said sincerely.
“I know.” She stood up. “I have to go talk to Micky now.”

Kristi walked out of the hotel. She stopped at the top of the steps just as Micky looked up at her. A watery smile came across her face as she ran down the steps and into his arms. “Oh, Kris.” He held her tight against him. “I’m so sorry.”
“No, shhh…none of that matters now.” She put her fingers against his lips. “I love you, Micky.”
“I love you too.” He kissed her deeply. “I love you.” With that, he picked her up in his arms and whirled her around.
Geary walked out of the hotel. “Hey.” Julia walked over to him. “You did a good thing, you know.” She gestured towards Micky and Kristi.
“Yeah, I know.” He gave a half-smile and then swung his arm around her shoulders. “Want to go grab some coffee?”
“Sounds good.” She smiled and put her arm around his waist.
