Marble Adonis - in the Museum at Delphi

I've labeled this photo a "Marble Adonis" for consistency with the cruise report. In that report I erroneously identified the statue as "Adonis," and I should have identified it as "Antinoos." Sorry about that. Antinoos was a favorite(?) of Emperor Hadrian. The young man drowned, and the Emperor deified him. Hadrian is responsible for many statues of Antinoos around the ancient world, but the sculpture at Delphi is considered one of the finest. Obviously, it represents the later period of classical greek art.
