Chapter 19 - The Move

As soon as Taylor finished signing autographs he practically ran outside to where Alex was waiting. He ran straight to her and hugged her tight. Then he tilted his head down and kissed her. He never wanted the kiss to end, but when it finally did end, he whispered into her ear, "I missed you sooo much."

"I missed you too," she answered, "but I won't have to miss you anymore, because my dad has been transferred!"

Taylor could not believe his ears. He was the happiest person on earth at that moment. "I...I..I can't believe it," he stuttered.

"I almost couldn't believe it either when I heard the news. But it's so great that we can be together for 6 months, because we're recording a new album here, and we're on a break."

That night we all went to the Hanson's house. (Jenn and I had been given permission to sleepover, just as long as nothing would "happen," and that Tay and Ike's parents were home.) Taylor, and I were on Tay's bottom bunkbed talking, with Alanis Morisette playing softly on the stereo. (AN: We know that Alanis Morisette music isn't exactly quiet romantic music, but pretend it is.) Suddenly Tay kissed me and I responded by kissing him deeply.

He slowly laid me down on his bed, and he wrapped his arms around me, kissing more and more passionately. When I felt Taylor's hand nearing the bottom of I shirt, I sat up.

"Tay, we can't do this, not here while your parents are home and I really don't want to give them a bad impression if the walk in."

"Okay, Alex," Tay answered, "later when they go to the movies with all the little kids we can continue where we left off," he said, with a sly grin. All I could do was laugh.

"Weren't Ike and Jenn supposed to be back by now, so we could all go grab a bite to eat?" I asked.

"Yeah, they were supposed to be back weren't they?" Tay answered, and yet another devilish grin spread across his face, "I wonder what could be taking them so long! We'll just have to kill the time while they're gone and..." he drifted off, his eyes shining with hope and the grin never leaving his face.

I shoved him off the bed and he yelped with pain as he fell on his butt.

"You're gonna get it now!" he said as he pulled me onto the floor and began tickling my stomach. I laughed endlessly, struggling to break from his grip. Finally, he stopped, and I was out of breath from laughter. He leaned down and kissed me.

"Tay, why'd u hafta tickle me?" I asked.

"Hey...you deserved it..." he smiled, and just leaned down to kiss me again.

******************************************

I'm so glad to be here," I said, when Ike and I were walking through the park hand in hand.

"I'm glad you're here too," he said, before gently placing his lips on mine. Slowly he slid his tongue into my mouth, and out tongues mingled together as the sun fell deep into the horizon. Finally, we broke apart, and still gazing into eachother's eyes, proceeded to a tree.

"Come on," Ike said, taking my hand.

"Okay," I said, unsure of where we were going. He led me to a large tree, and he said, "this can be our tree."

"Why?" I asked, touched by his sentimentality.

"Because I want to remember you like this, standing under the tree, when the sun setting behind you. I wish that it could be like this for always."

"Oh Ike," I sighed, brushing my hand against his cheek, looking into his puppy dog eyes.

"Shhhhh......" he whispered, as we inched closer and closer together. At last, when we couldn't take it anymore, he kissed me, and we stood there, in the sunset, just two figures in the falling night shadows.

"Now," he said, when we seperated, "let's climb up this tree, it'll be fun."

"Cool," I agreed, and followed him up into the tangled thick branches of the tree. We climbed up to the middle, and sat on a branch, invisible to those below us, buried in lush greenery. Ike turned to me and smiled.

I smiled back. "I'm glad you brought me here, it's so sweet, no one's ever done this for me, and I've never met anyone like you," I said softly.

"And I've never met anyone like you," he responded. I blushed, and looked away.

"What's wrong?" he asked, touching my shoulder.

"I was just thinking about how much I'm going to miss you when we're seperated," I said, getting teary.

"No...Jenn don't do this...please don't ruin the moment," he begged.

"You're right," I said, "ask me again."

"Ask you what?" he questioned.

"Ask me what's wrong Ike," I told him.

"Okay, Jenn, what's wrong?" he repeated.

"Nothing," I answered softly, "absolutely nothing."
