Chapter 18 - The Concert

"Zac! We have to go now!" yelled Ike. Zac had just gotten out of the shower and was messing with his hair.

"God Zac! Put some pants on at least" pleaded Taylor.

"Okay, okay, I'm coming!" Zac yelled back. Zac pulled on a pair of taxi-cab yellow pants and matching yellow Doc Martins. "I have to look beautiful," Zac said jokingly.

"Well it doesn't seem to be helping so fix your face of something and get your ass down here!" Ike yelled from the bottom of the stairs.

The whole Hanson family was waiting outside, so they didn't hear Ike curse. Zac pounded down the stairs and ran outside to join his family. The ride to the concert was short, and they started the sound check right away. After an hour they headed backstage to prepare for the concert.

The stupid make-up/clothes people made Taylor wear an ugly yellow shirt, and in his opinion, it made him look like a dork, or, in other words, he looked like Zac.

"This looks so retarded!" complained Taylor, "I am NOT wearing this!" So reluctantly, the fashion person gave Taylor a normal shirt to wear.

Finally they were ready to start. They heard the screaming fans in their dressing rooms. Ike, Tay and Zac prepared to run onstage. When they heard "Here's Hanson!" they ran onstage and to their instruments.

The screaming grew a few decibels and Taylor was glad that he had earplugs in. They broke into 'Where's the Love?' and Taylor glanced around at the signs that fans held. One said 'Zac- will you father my child?' another said, 'Ike- LAY it on me,' and 'Where's the Love? Right here Taylor!' Taylor smiled at all of the excited fans screaming, singing, and dancing before him.

Taylor felt a sudden pain in his gut, a sad feeling. He missed her. Taylor thought to himself, I'll do this for you, I'll pretend that you're out there in the audience, smiling just for me, so I'll sing just for you.

Taylor jumped up and down, banging out the music on his keyboard, singing at the top of his voice. Taylor's eyes wandered around the crowd around the crowd to the front row. Off to the side, he spotted a familiar face.

Oh my God! he thought to himself, nearly stopping the song. A huge grin broke out on his face when Ike was singing lead in a certain part of the song, Taylor mouthed, I love you. And all the girls screamed with joy, thinking that he was saying it to them. The girl it was meant for smiled, and mouthed it back.

As they finished up the concert, Ike couldn't help but miss Jenn. When the brothers went backstage they were told that there was going to be an autograph session in the conference room. The three of them went to the autograph room.

They began signing autographs immediately, so Ike didn't look up when the fan handed him a copy of "Middle of Nowhere" to sign. He asked, "who should I make this out to?" A familiar voice answered, "make it out to Jenn." That was when Ike looked up and saw Jenn. His jaw dropped in surprise.

"You're here...but...but...but you live...there..."

"Not for the next six months," Jenn answered, "my and Alex's dad's were transferred here for work for 6 months, maybe more." Ike was so happy that he could scream.

He wrapped his arms around Jenn and kissed her in front of all the fans. Jenn gladly kissed him back. When they parted, Jenn asked, "Ike...I thought we agreed that we wouldn't do this in front of...you know..." she glanced around at the fans nervously.

"I don't care," Ike replied ecstaticly, "you're here, and I'm so happy, that's what matters! This is awesome!"

~*Jenn's point of view*~

"You're telling me!" I said happily, adding a soft kiss.

"Is Alex here too?" Ike asked.

"Yeah, Taylor already knows." I answered. We glanced over at Taylor who was rushing through the autographs obviously so that he could go see Alexandra.
