New Nightmare 2
Scene 5

Josh pulls the car to a stop in front of the school.  It is a
rich school, well financed as they are in a much to do 
neighborhood.  All the people going into the school are dressed
preppish, with kakis and pullovers.  Most the males have their 
backpacks hanging loosly over a single shoulder while, most the 
females are walking around in groups of four to five, not even
caring books with them.

Josh gets out of the car, and pulls the seat forward so that 
David can get out.  Tina, not wanting to bother Candy, scoots
over to the driver's side, and gets out Thanking Josh.  As 
soon as she clears the door, Josh closes it behind her, and starts 
to walk with David and Tina a few steps towards the school, and 
then stops once it seems they are out of ear shot of Candy.

Josh
I didn't want to tell you while
she is around because, well as
you can see.

David
Yeah.., what happened.

Josh
Sam was killed yesterday by some
gang that had been down on the 
beach.  At least thats what the
cops think.  All the witnesses
refused to say who it was, but
they think that's because all the
witnesses were probably scared.

Tina
No...

David
Are you sure we shouldn't all
hang out.  She might need all of
us there.

Josh
Well, I'm afraid being around
you(looking to David) might make
her think of Sam even more.

Tina
But what about me.  

Josh
Listen, I just want to be alone 
with her, and keep her from doing 
something, but I don't want to
many people being around.  I
just think it should be me and her.
As soon as I get her home, I
am going to try and make her get 
some sleep.

A bell rings 

CUT

David and Tina are walking down the hall as the hallway is
beginning to clear out for students going to classes.  David
stops at his locker, as Tina continues on to hers.  He puts
in his book bag and takes out a notbook, and a history book,
and then walks down the hall to her locker.  She is there 
waiting for him.  Tears are starting to stream down her face.

David reaches out to her with his free hand.  Her head falls
onto it.

David
I miss her too.  I can't
believe something like this
could happen.  It's just 
not something that's possible.

Tina
This isn't a movie.  Anything
is possible.

David pauses, trying to search for words.

David
Are you still going to that 
audition after school.

Tina
How could I?

David
I don't know.  Maybe you should.
It will help you get over it.

They move on to class.  Davis follows her in.  Inside the class
all the students are settled, and the teacher is casually 
talking to them, waiting to see who would straddle in late
before he would start class.  David and Tina find seats, seperate
by a couple of seats.  David sits down, and immediatly opens his
notebook, and starts to doodle in it.  He starts to just draw 
images as he has no talent, but just uses it to waste time.  He
looks over at Tina.

She is sitting there, and Davis can see her with tears 
occasionagly creeping down her cheek.  Davis sees her there near
tears, and has a problem himself with it.  He looks away from 
Tina and back to the front of the room.  The teacher is already up
walking down the row towards Tina.  He places a hand on her 
shoulder.

Teacher
Are you okay?

She looks up at him

Tina
Yeah, I'll be fine

The teacher makes his way back to the front of the class and starts
to write on the board.
