Roadside Assistance Scene 21-25 Revised 2/11/00 21. Ext. Car Wash, Mid-morning. Close-up of the pool of blood. A hand reaches into the shot, and one outstrechted finger dips into the pool. As the hand is pulling itself back, The camera pulls back to reveal a man wearing a suit. He rubs the blood in between his fingers, and then looks up. Officer 1 You say this is the second day you have found a puddle like this. The officer starts to stand Officer 1 Why didn't you call the police after the first day. Attendant Hey man, to me it coulda been antifreeze, you know. I mean why should i call you down here for some mother fucker havin' a fuckin' leak in his antifreeze. You know what I mean. Officer 1 Yeah, I know what you mean. What else was it that you said you had found? Attendant Over here. yeah, I found some freaky shit in the drain when I was cleaning it out this morning. I seen that shit, and knew right away I had to call the cops. The attendant walks them into the car wash to the center drain. He then points down. The cover is already open. The detective sqauts down, and starts to move his hand through the drain. He starts to pull up clawds of hair, and then caught in a few pieces of hair are a few teeth, and shards of bone. The detective, disgusted, shakes it all away from his hand, and stands quickly. He walks out of the car wash, and walks briskly back to his car. He sits in the passenger seat, and grabs for the radio. His partner walks over from the car wash's office. He walks up to the car and leans over the open car door as Officer 1 starts to speak into his radio. Officer 1 Car 216 to dispatch Dispatch Go ahead Car 216. What's your report. Officer 1 Possible 187. Remain's incomplete. Samples are being bagged and brought in. Dispatch Roger. Officer 1 puts the handset of the radio back, and then looks at his partner. END OF SCENE 21 22. Int. Inside Department Store, Mid Day Adam stands there, he greets customer 1 as they come in, and then he turns back to Alyssia, Alyssia is the Customer Service Manager. Adam What do you mean, I thought that it was a great movie. Alyssia Yah...right. Annette comes back from the back. She walks up to Adam. Annette John says you can clean telemarketing now. Adam Why don't you do it. It's your job. Annette walks to her register, and turns on her light. Customer 2 comes up to her, and she brushes him off as she rings him up. Alyssia gives her an ugly look, and then looks to Adam with a look of disgust as a silent communication for both of their hatred for Annette. The customer walks by Adam and he wishes them a good day in a cheery voice. Then he turns back to Alyssia, and then Annette. Annette walks away from her register and goes into one of the aisles. Adam Doesn't she get on your nerves? Alyssia-mocking Oh, by what do you mean. Adam With how she thinks she fucking owns the place. Alyssia Shoosh, watch your mouth. Adam calms down as he stays quiet while customer 3 steps up to the Customer Service Desk. The customer pays and leaves. Annette comes up and starts to rummage around in the clearance table. Alyssia Annette, stay on your register Annette I'm busy. Alyssia Get on your damn register Adam Hey, why not have her get telemarketing cleaned up. Annette I told you too. Adam Your not my boss. Annette No, but John said he wanted you to do it. Adam Bullshit. A customer 4( a bitchy old lady) comes up to Alyssia Customer 4 I want to see the store manager. Alyssia I'm the customer service manager is there anything I can do for you? Customer 4 If I thought that, then I wouldn't have to speak to your store manager. Alyssia Okay, well it will be a few minutes for him to come up, okay. Customer 4 That's okay, I'll wait. The Customer turns from Alyssia to look at Annette and then at Adam. Alyssia-over the intercom John to the customer service desk please, John to the customer service desk. Customer 4 looks back to Alyssia. Adam stands there, He is not wanting what was about to happen, happen. He knew what the crazy ol' bitch wanted. It's happened in the past, and he had always calmed down the customer after Annette had fanned the flame. This time he knew he couldn't do it though. He gives a Annette a look of pure hate, as he wanted to hurt her. John comes walking up the center aisle. A low angle shot to dominate the screen. Extreme Close up of his nostrils as he breaths. The sounds of heavy breathing. Extreme Close up of his eye. Glaring. A long manipulated full shot of Alyssia as she turns away from the customer and looks at John with the fear of a person who saw a bull running to them. She turns away from the customer and looks at John as he comes up the aisle. She is not the scared person in the previous manipulated shots, and she keeps her cool as John walks around to the front of the service desk to it's entrance. Alyssia She wanted me to call you up here. She has something for you I guess. John now stands behind the service desk, and looks across it at the customer. He is not the wild beast, but turns calm and smiling. John Yes, is there something I can help you with? Customer 4 Yes, you can keep your employees in line. You would not believe the language I heard, and how they treated each other. I just about walked right out the door. I was so disgusted to be in an establishment that would allow it's crew to just go off swearing like I heard from those two. She points to Adam and Annette. John gives them both a dirty look and then looks back to the customer. John Okay, well, I thank you for bringing this to my attention, and I can assure you that it will be taken care of. Customer 4 looks smuggly at all three of the front end crew, and then walks out of the store. John looks to Adam, Alyssa is trying to get out of the scene, looking for work to like cleaning up the service desk. John Adam, follow me. As John walks by Annette he gives her an ugly look. As soon as he looks away and walks past, Annette looks at Adam, smiling as though she had won. END OF SCENE 22 23. Int. Inside of Officer 1's unmarked car, Mid Day Officer 1 is driving the car, down the road. The sun filtering in, but yet the clouds keep much of the light out of the sky. After a few moments of sitting in silence, Officer 1 flashes a look at his partner. Officer 1 So what do you think. Where are we at? Officer 2 At on what? Officer 1 On the car wash this morning? Officer 2 We don't have much to go on, except for the possibilitie that he lives Forest Park, since he seems to go there nightly. I would say, we just leave a note for them to patrol the car was early morning. Officer 1 What makes you so sure he will do it again tonight? Officer 2 He's done it for two nights in a row. Third times the charm, right? Officer 1 But we don't have anything on him? Officer 2 There's something, we just have to find it. That blood didn't just come from nowhere. Officer 1 Hey look at this dipshit. END OF SCENE 23 24. Int. Inside John's Office, minutes later. Pan of John's office, cluttered in paper, having two filing cabinets, and two desks. John is standing behind one of the desks, the one facing the door, Adam is at the other side, with the other desk to his side. John had just had a long talk with Adam, trying to find out what was wrong. Some of it was yelling. Now John sits at his desk, picking up the head set of the phone. Adam is about to stand. While standing Adam starts to speak. Adam So how long am I suspended? John For the rest of the week. Adam walks out of the door, and closes it behind him. END OF SCENE 24 25. Int. Outside John's Office, continious Adam is walking away, pissed. and he walks by a filing cabinet. He hits it, and leaves a dent. Tim, who was not to far behind Adam stops, wondering what happened. Tim Hey Adam, what's wrong John-over intercom Annette to the back please. Adam looks briefly back at Tim, but doesn't stop walking. END OF SCENE 25 Scene 26-30
