Okay, let's all say it together: "We want the day off!".
No, we do not want flowers. No, we do not want to go to lunch with you. We see you 40 + hours per week. We would like to see our family that many hours per week, but since that is not possible, a day during the week with them is a special treat.
If you have a secretary, give her the day off. I can guarantee you that if you do this, she will never forget you for it! You will be tops on her list forever.
