Chapter 8

Nightfall.Carmina pictured the sunset in her mind,it had been a while since she had actually seen it.Memories of day seemed so faint and the last memories of it were fading away.Like hope of getting away from these people.she hadn't slept for days and it showed in her face.She was pale as the moon,black shadows below her eyes,making them look darker.Silhouette did nothing but stared to the emptyness,she wondered what he saw if he actually saw a thing.She managed to make him eat once in a while so he didn't wither away.Clan Soldiers brought them food again,cold as usual.

Dark Owl stepped in wearing tight black clothing,he was so tall and slim he could had been a part of the shadows the caves were so filled of.Carmina hadn't seen him after the incident before.Even for not getting rest his eyes were sharp,noticing everything and his thoughts were as rapid as a snake.A rattle snake,atleast as leathal.

"Well then,are we ready to go?" He asked and walked to the hook where the key was hanging.

"Does it really matter if we are or not?" Carmina asked in return.

"No,but I asked to be polite" he replied as he opened the door "And answering with a question to a question is not that,come on now.step out"

Carmina poked Silhoutte and gestured him to go."Come on now,we're leaving...Atleast we'll get some fresh air" Silhouette got up and stepped out,Carmina right behind him hanging her head.

"Pull your hands back" Dark Owl ordered and they did as he said.Quikly he tied their hands,so tightly it made both of them grimace.This made Dark Owl look a bit of apologizing,but the look on his face disappeared and he pushed them both forward.

"Get moving" he yelled and the grand doors opened,army marching out Dark Owl riding in the middle his own men surrounding him.Holding his head up like a royal king.

Carmina and Silhouette were walking in the back group,her legs already hurt and the walk had just begun.But she kept walking not wanting to feel the whip on her back again.

Viper and his soldiers were marching in front in case of attacks,ready to protect their lord.

At midnight the party stopped and soldiers too horses to the river for some fresh water.Silhouette didn't look so well,he was paler than normally and seemed to be half asleep.Maybe he's just tired she thought,being tired herself too.She wasn't paying too much attention to him until he tried to get up

"Ca- Car..." and he fell to the ground breathless.Carmina jumped up to him.

"Silhouette!!" She poked him on the chest "Silhouette,what's the matter?Wake up!" The noise had brought Viper,Dark Owl and their generals there too.

"What's going on,what happened?Was it an ambush?"Dark Owl asked looking for wounds from Silhouette's body.Carmina lied her head down own Silhouettes chest,hearing a soft,but so weak heartbeat "He's alive"But when she looked at him it didn't seem that way.

Dark Owl replied his question "What happened?"

we don't know sire"One of the soldiers reported "we saw prisoner callepse to the ground"

"He's just sick" Carmina said "Fever i think,but I think he's close to death,I can barely feel his heartbeat" She said as she pulled her blanked around him.Viper was clearing his throat "Sir,we should be on our way...If he's close to death then just leave him be.There's nothing we can do.Not our problem.."

"You killed him,it's all your fault!You brought him into this world from his own underworld,from his pople,his life!He's mind has been dead ever since you brought him up here,i am not letting you kill his body too for I am to take him back home someday!If you let him die,you'll have to drag me with you for I am not leaving him!"Carmina screamed,tears running down her cheecks."You killed him..You killed him..."

"Light,light feel the light,touch the light flowing through her...The power of heavenly purity...Blessed be the light..."

Dark owl shaked his head trying to get a hold of what's going on around him again.

"Sir taking him along will just slow us down" Viper was talking,and his generals nodding their heads."You're right Viper" Dark owl said looking thoughtful "but he we should take him along and try to get him well.You can take your soldiers and drive forward before us and announce the lord that we're coming in a few days"

"Sir,that's not wise sire.You'll be open for attacks here,and your travelling will be slow"Viper objected "We should just send messengers before us" Dark Owl narrowed his eyes at Viper,but didn't say any of the sharp words that almost were readable on his lips

"Very well Viper,we'll send messengers."Dark owl spoke as he waved his arm "Bring the wagon so we can get moving again."
