Chapter 4

Everytime Carmina mentioned about going to see the Elder ,Master Herzen got busy with work,so she gave up after Carmina's request had been ignored for a week.So she has spent her days following Silhouette whom just seemed to screw up everything being as clumsy as he was.After a few days cleaning master Herzen managed to make his house and lab look a bit like it had been.He was frowing and seemed more like a thundercloud for a while so carmina stayed off his way.She didn't feel like getting smacked like Silhouette had been,Carmina thought that he had gotten used to it.

She had listened Master Herzens lectures to Silhouette about stones,talking about them so lovingly as he'd be talking about his own child.She assumed he had grown into them and wished to taught everything he knew.Silhouette was his student,dumb as a mole,but always so nice and funny.He had showed some secret things to Carmina,like the mine where they digged for minerals for Master Herzen to examine.He also let Carmina try the digging it too.She started to like Silhouette,and felt closest to him than anyone in the village.She liked his way to talk freely and open spirit.

"For us stone is our life,we live to study stones for it being the Final Element"Silhouette talked while they were walking in a mine."It's stable,and yet it isn't but can be controlled,atleast in a way."He went on.Of course Carmine wasn't really interested about all this but nothing better to do and was stuck Underground.She had even caught the name of the village,Ugra.

How do you control the rocks Silhouette?"She asked,picked a small one and throwed as far as she could,then hearing it bounce somewhere."You didn't control that now did you"

Silhouette gave her a embrassed look and rest against a wooden structure."Ah,well not like that.You controlled that one when you were holding it in your hand,but when you throwed it,it was the rocks balance controlling itself."He explained.

"If the rock controlls itself,how can you do so too?"Carmina found a little stream of silver and payed more attention to that,that Silhouettes talking,but pretented that she was interested since she didn't want to to hurt him.

"We reach the monekyls of it,and move them.Only Elder can do that.None of us others can.That's why he's Elder.Powerful One."The word Elder caught Carminas full attention and left the silver stream alone.

"Why can't I meet the elder since he seems to know how to get away from here?"

Silhouette seemed very uneasy and rubbed his other shoulder nervously."You see...Elder and Master Herzen think you be the Heavenly One,they want me to keep an eye at you."

Heavenly One?Carmina bursted into laugh."Geez Silhouette,I don't know what you're talking about!Why would they think I am ..Ahem!Heavenly One?"She wiped tears away from eyes laughing so hard.

"Carmina,it's what you look.Silver hair,like sunbeams in it and your eyes..Like the heaven itself!And your name even,in the Old Language it stands for 'Heavenly'"

Carmina examined Silhouettes face and quit laughing.This guy wasn't joking,and she felt a bitter taste in her mouth.

"I think Elder and Master Herzen are wrong,I couldn't be this person.No way!"

"Elder says time's not ripe,he needs to buy more time.Elder will call you when he sees it."Silhouette started to walk towards the exit."We should get going.Master Herzen may get mad for staying away so long"Carmina walked a bit after him thinking that master herzen was always angry,late or not.

When they reached the village it seemed too quiet.Silhouette hurried his steps to his Masters house.He opened the door and peeked in."Master Herzen?"Silhouette walked in,looking everywhere for him."Master?"House seemed abandoned.Fire was still burning in the fireplace.

Carmina was near the door way,having a creepy feeling in her back.

"I don't think he's home at all.The whole village is empty Silhouette.None is here."

Silhouette was amazed "Where could...?"He never got finished,when he heard a booming voice shouting "Attack!"
