The country’s current top players are: Joseph Lizardo, a highly determined and hardworking player; Robert Angelo, an intelligent and gritty player; Camoy Palahang, a skillful and self-made college graduate of San Beda College; student Alexander Toledo, Pio Tolentino, the PCA winner of 1993, and Michael Misa, an Accounting Major from UST. They made up the team that defeated Japan in the 1995 Davis Cup Tie. Lizardo defeated Japan’s Shozu Matsuoka in singles play. Matsuoka reached the quarter finals of Wimbledon in 1995 whose career wins include former world champion Stefan Edberg and Goran Ivanisevic.

The Women’s Division are led by Francesca Uriarte La’O, who recently accepted a scholarship at the University of California at Berkeley; the talented 16 years old and currently one of Asia’s best juniors, Maricris Fernandez; Joanna Feria, a former junior track and field star and "cum laude" graduate in Business & Psychology at the Northwestern University in Illinois; Jennifer Saret, another scholar-athlete at Brigham Young University; up and coming Pamela Floro and Marisue Jacutin.
