He never quite seems to grow into the leaner frame and face of age; instead, he remains in the form of youth, cherubic and impish. Still, though, a near-leonine grace lingers around him, settling like a dark cape over burnished auburn hide from crown to tail. Sorrel, roan, copper -- all run their course over his body, but eventually, all mingle back into his sole coloring of gleaming auburn, undermined by a faint luster of sun-stained gold. Legs are sturdy, but not long -- they are well-muscled, rounding off in dainty paws, studded with brighter speckles and rings of brassy bronze before tipping in crystallic talons. Extended, wings are broad, 'sails lazily deifted over with lighter shades that play downward to creep across shoulders and coiled haunches, latter of which leads into his long tail, spaded canvas smeared with nightshade.
Egypt's desert wastelands are darkened by the smeared with the rays of an unseen dawn; such an image is etched onto this firelizard's form in the finest oils of pyrite and feuille-morte and crimson, rendered by the hands of the world's finest artists. Scarlet mingles with flaxen, hinting at a hidden canvas under the deepened gold of her hide - the cerise shades of blood, tempered by the hidden daylight. Down her narrow face, the sultry dance of crimson'd gold breaks away, revealing a pair of bright eyes, nearly glowing in their iridescence. Tiny saffron-dusted paws hold unknown power and dexterity; rapier-tipped claws are glassy, crystalline, reflective. Wings are broad, able to lift her straight off the ground and into the air or take a swift dive with their delicate vanes and pinions - images of sand make themselves known in hieroglyphics across the canvas of 'sails. Castilian flames, combustible and raging across her silken hide, lick and taunt o'er the surface of her well-rounded body, from curvaceous belly to the well-fleshed chamber of her haunches. Following behind all is a long tail, tapering off to end in the typical spade, brushed with the pastels of sunset's approach. She is the queen of the night, proud, dashed with Cleopatran elegance and exotic beauty.
Even cloaked in the darkness of his natural color, one can easily see the tints and hues of the preternatural glimmer beneath that; rich tones of tarnished copper, sage, the wonder of silver'd fireworks dazzle, shift their way across his flawless hide. Eyes, well-set under the raised eyeridges, are large, iridescent, glinting at violet tinges in the light despite what he may be feeling - the long muzzle sends out a last defiance of golden sparks at the very tip, before fading into a long-lasting blackness. Down the slender neck, down the narrow -- surprisingly narrow -- chest, to the wizened legs, ending in their drunken-seeming paws, a misstep in his undeniable grace. The fervor of liquor springs to life more vividly upon wings when outstretched, sending the scarlet rivulets of rich wine cascading across 'sails, the more pungent flicker of dark-golden rum streaming down leading edges from the fount at the tips of his 'spars amongst the brown, rendering it nearly translucent. To follow behind, balancing out his errors and inevitable mishaps of gangly legs, comes a long tail, thin, the spark of flame making a final, imprinted flare on the spade.
Midnight's satin slink soaks this lanky bronze in brushes of true black, 'cross head and shoulders, spreading out to only barely grace wide wings. Down, down, down the darkness dribbles, weaving seamlessly with glits of color; tarnished brass, from the tip of his snubby nose, to the flats of his talons. Precision-cut, those are, dull only in shade. Russet-colored eyeridges are narrow, but prominent all the same, calling attention to a pair of luminous eyes that never quite seem to fall still.
Obsidian, pure and deep, glitters with the luster of moonless nights over this lady's sleek form. Long fur has been clipped short; the remaining fur easily reflects the almost lupine build of a Black Longhair. Standing easily as tall as a child's waist at the shoulders, her large stature does little to impede the grace and tirelessness of such a canine, nor does it dull the intelligence that gleams sharply in amber-gold eyes. The finely chiseled face consists of a long, tapering muzzle, the same glittering eyes, and a pair of large ears, tipped in the darkest of brown. Long legs are strong, lacking the width and depth of bone for weight but more than making up for it in strength and agility. Each leg caps off in a small, round paw, their respective quintet of nails clipped neatly, promising a huntress' stealth.
Gold to silver, silver to gold. Both colors are at hand in the image of sleekness that this young runner presents. Tawny rum spills over his form, setting golden hide aflame in deepening hues of hidden quicksilver concealed beneath their deceptive facade of pyrite. Mane and tail cascade in the same color, silver set ablaze in the brightness of flaxen silk. A small portion of forelock lies errantly 'twixt pricked ears, both capped in soft grey. Smoky brown reflects in his eyes, their depths mirroring spirit and intelligence as well as harboring a sparkle of mischief; both are set wide around the stripe of white that cuts a sharp contrast to the honey'd gold of his face, tapering off at the end of his near-dainty muzzle. Speed doesn't look to be his forte, though his legs are long and straight, each ending in white coronet and pale hooves -- instead, endurance plays a part, showing in his broad chest.
