The Cry of Reason
A Brief Explanation of the Structure of the Bible
- There is a certain man who wants to be your friend
right now. (2 Corinthians 6:2; John 15:14) He loves you
so much (John 3:16) that while you were busy being His
enemy (Romans 5:10), He laid down His life and died for
you. (Romans 5:6; John 15:13) He is God and His Name is
Jesus Christ. (John 1:1-14; 1 Timothy 3:16; Jude 25;
Philippians 2:5-6, 9-10) It is impossible for us to number
all the words He has given us (John 21:25); however,
because of this fact and who He is and what He has done
for you, you ought to listen to Him and love Him with
all of your heart. (Matthew 17:5; Mark 12:30-31;
Deuteronomy 6:4-8)
- But, if you will not listen to God the Father,
whose voice may be well represented by the entire Old
Testament, you ought to listen to His Son, whose voice
may be most directly, but not strictly represented by
the four gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. If you
do not listen to God's Son, you ought to listen to His
Holy Spirit, which may be justifiably represented by
Acts through Revelation.
- If you don't listen to the Son or His Spirit
(Galatians 4:6; Romans 8:9), you can listen to His
human ancestors. To wit, the histories and/or writings
of Noah, Shem, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Judah,
Ruth, Jesse, King David and King Solomon which can be
found in the books of Genesis, Ruth, 1 & 2 Samuel, 1 &
2 Kings, 1 & 2 Chronicles, Psalms, Nehemiah 13,
Proverbs, Ecclesiates and The Song of Solomon.
- Now, if you choose to ignore His human ancestry,
allowing that ancestry is an undisputed fountainhead
of our most treasured wisdom, and continue to wander
thus far astray; admittedly, you have a large problem.
But, you can still listen to His brothers by reading
the books of James and Jude. (Matthew 13:55) If you
don't listen to His brothers, you can listen to His
friends and those whom He chose to be His disciples.
Their words can be found in the gospels of Matthew,
Mark, Luke and John. They also wrote the book of Acts,
1 & 2 Peter; 1, 2 & 3 John and The Revelation of
Jesus Christ. If you don't listen to His friends,
you can listen to the disciple whom Jesus loved, who
wrote the gospel of John; 1, 2 & 3 John and
Revelation.
- If you don't listen to the friends and loved ones
of Jesus, then you can listen to His enemy and the
chief of sinners (1 Timothy 1:15), the Apostle Paul,
whose conversion is written in the book of Acts and
whose sermons and writings extend from Acts through
Philemon. You could even listen to one who was
converted through Paul's ministry, i.e. Timothy, who
wrote the book of Hebrews.
- But, if you will not even listen to His enemy, or
any of the rest; then you are not listening to begin
with. And for that reason alone, you deserve to go to
hell. For who is it that so completely ignores the
words of Almighty God; or of what worth or value is
such an one? (Proverbs 1) However, in reality, there
are many other reasons why every man and woman deserves
to go to hell. (Romans 3:10-18)
- So, if you don't want to go to hell, or if you want
to love God with all your heart; all you must do is
listen to and do the bidding of the Cry of Reason,
which is supplied by the contents of the entire Bible,
which is the Word of God. (Isaiah 1:18 & 40:8; Matthew
5:17-20 & 24:35)
