Jesus Had The Children In His Mind

Jesus had the children in His mind
When He was led to be crucified
Strength it gave to mount that deadly hill
To save all their souls He said, "Yes, I will."

When they nailed His hands to the cross -
"By this suffering I pay their cost."
When they drove the nail into His feet -
"Now, my children shall reign with me!"

Yes, this was the Son of God
The mighty Word upon which we've trod
Our own sins did drive Him to that tree
To suffer God's wrath instead of you and me

Let us never forsake the Word
Daily remembering what we once heard
Then our love shall soar into the skies
To meet our great King with His eternal prize
