Hymns of Worship
The next few pages will have some of the several hymns which I have
written over the years. I will start with the first, but after that, they
will be in no particular order. These are hymns as opposed to just plain
poetry because I have appropriate music that goes with each of the
following.
Our Faith Is Tried
Our faith is tried with devious lusts and divers tendencies
The heart is sly, beyond all trust and who can hold its' reins?
I thank my God through Jesus Christ that heart is in His hands!
He views all inward ponderings and then makes His command
When the world and all therein obstruct and rise to stake their claim
We have a surer confidence through the blood and Jesus' name
Though doubt and fear on every side should threaten to consume
With Thy Sword and shield on every field the accuser finds his doom
Our faith is tried! We count it joy the crown of life to own
Our tongues declare - His Spirit proves the sanctifying Son
Perfect our faith as wrought with works to stand within the veil
To give sacrifice of praise and prayer and Thy sweet love inhale
