Salsa was one of the first fosters I received from the humane organization. He and his sisters, Tortilla and Peanut Butter were just 3 days old when their mommy was hit by a car. The woman who rescued them wanted to know if we would bottlefeed them, ween them then give them back to her. I think not. These kittens were so sweet! Very affectionate and very needy. Bottle babies are an around the clock job and I had my hands full!

At adoption time, Tortilla went to live with one of my daycare families who later adopted Twinkie too. Peanut Butter, so named because her coat was swirled like a new jar of peanut butter, was also adopted. For some unknown reason no one was ever interested in Salsa. I can't imagine why. He is one of the most affectionate and special cats I have ever known. After he weened instead of a bottle, he took to suckling on my chin! He still sits up on his hind legs with his arms outstretched for me to pick him up when he needs some loving.

According to my husband, Skip, Salsa is still available for adoption. But, if anyone is interested he and I will have to have a long discussion about it. Newsflash!

Salsa is now working in commercials! Huckleberry's trainer, Miriam Fields, took one look at him and said, "This cat's got it!" He is now making a cameo appearance in a commercial for the Maryland Lottery. We spent a weekend in Baltimore, all expenses paid, shooting and boy did he shine! Hit his mark every time. I think another star is born!
