Tip 08: Quick Neon

Step 1:
- Open new document (RGB mode)
- Fill background with Black color.
- Use Type tool to create some text with Blach color. (Use at least 60 point
or larger)This create Black text on a Black backgound.
Step 2:
- Hide your background layer by going to the Layers Palette and click
on the Eye icon of Background layer.
- Once you've position your text, click on the background Eye icon
again to make the Black background visible.
Step 3:
- Under Layer menu-->Layer Style-->Choose Outter Glow. Click on the
color swatch and change the color to match Neon-like color (magenta, purple,
yellow...)
- In the dialog box, change the Technique to Presize. Size = 2.
Opacity = 100
Step 4:
- Under Layer menu-->Layer Style-->Choose Inner Glow. Click on the color
swatch and choose the color that it's match with the Outter Glow you chose earlier.
- Change Technique to Presize, Size = 2 , Opacity = 100.
-Click Ok to complete your effect.
Note:
These setting work well on low res. (72 dpi images) For high res, (300 dpi or
more) you'll need to increase the "Size setting" in both Inner and
Outter Glow to 20 to get the same effect.
