Swollen Members: Review

By Arturo Perez - Kludge Magazine

The Vancouver tag-team duo, Mad Child and Prevail, come back with their second album, Bad Dreams, but there's no nightmare here. With tracks done by DJ Revolution, Tha Alchemist, DJ Babu (Dialated), They bring a confident style that's meaty, and sounds like that they don't have a flash-in-the-pan future ahead of them.

Canadian Moka only sings on the great hook of "Fuel Injected", the first single. On "Ventilate", DJ Babu lays a sick track down while Madchild and Prevail diss each other, thus venting out all their frustrations, while making a killer song.On "Full Contact", Chali 2NA (Jurassic 5) and Evidence (Dialated) help spit on the album's highlight track.

There's more to see in this duo than just their hit from last year, "Lady Venom". With a Los Angeles influenced album like this, it's likely that Swollen Members will soon eclipse their fame gained here in Canada.
