By Fame One - TheCyberKrib.com

Swollen Members are giving back to Canada - heavily. The hip hop group, consisting of Shane “Mad Child” Bunting, Kelley “Prevail” Hendricks, Daniel “Mocha Only” Denton, and Disk Jockey/Producer Robin “Rob the Viking” Hooper are set to release Heavy, a specially made album to only be released in Canada.

As manager Jay Clark announced, the album will be a “double disc, limited edition release (50,000 units). One disk will feature all brand new exclusive tracks, the second disc is a DVD that will feature videos, live performances, and backstage footage.” He continues, “`Heavy is to thank all the fans in Canada for their support before (Swollen Members) go and release an album for the rest of the world.” The group is currently working on new material in Venice Beach, California - where they moved to at the beginning of the year. Real close by to previous collaborators, Aceyalone, Abstract Rude, Mr. Brady, and Evidence of Dilated Peoples. “There’s so many more people here and so many more people doing hip hop and making music in general, and a lot of we’ve been influenced by over the years has come from here,” related Prevail in an interview with Canoe.

“Heavy” is set to be released through the group’s own label, BattleAxe Records with Canadian distribution through Nettwerk/EMI. However, Swollen Members plan on having a forthcoming world wide release to be different than that of Heavy. The yet untitled disk will be released on Virgin Records in America and BattleAxe/Nettwerk/EMI in Canada.

Heavy hit’s the streets in the first quarter of next year.
