The All NU B.E.T.
Damn! The day I dreaded most has come and gone and while I am still suffering from the shock I did survive. It happened this past June. I remember it was a typically hot summer afternoon in North Cackalacka, I had just finished sipping on some ice tea and watching my umpteenth episode of Rap City when I heard the promo for 106 And Park. The Backstreet Boys were making a guest appearance! Now you know I had to light one up. I always do on these sad sad occasions, partly to help me cope and well it's an everyday thing.

The nuz that the pop band would be making their or any True pop band debut appearance on B.E.T. sent familiar chills throughout me body. I felt betrayed all over again. The same feeling I had when I first heard the nuz that a white boy was hosting Comic View. I thought then that the shiznit had hit the fan. But dayum, the selling out of B.E.T. by Robert Johnson (Founder and former owner of B.E.T.) to the enemy (White owned Viacom: CBS, MTV), now that hurt. While I don't fault Mr. Johnson (three (3) Billion dollars is a whole bunch of cheese to say no to), I did feel betrayed and because of it I no longer view B.E.T. the same. Now I feel that B.E.T. is just another little to offer white owned cable channel albeit one with black faces.

So what is next for our former channel? A white host for Rap City. I can see Carson Daly now on B.E.T. Or maybe a Black casting of The Real World where they move 7 Black kids from the subs to the projects/ghetto for six months.(Why do they call it the real world? I mean you live in a big azz house with mad azz furniture, a pool table, a jacuz, cable internet access, a car, a job and to top it all off no rent or utilities. What the phuck is real about that?) Or maybe a Black cast for Road Rules where they get a four door caddy instead of a mobile home. My bad that'll neva work. Insurance would be too high. The cast would get pulled over all the time for fittin' "tha description". Anyway you get the point.
