"The
Truth"
You want the truth, you can't
handle the truth
Beanie Sigel definitely comes "Raw & Uncut" on his debut Lp
The Truth
coming out on Roc-a-fella Records on February 29. This "Philly
cat who ain't
with that silly rap" makes it known that he ain't the next
nobody, that he is
Beanie Sigel. He clearly states that " it's not the second
coming of anybody,
it's the first Beanie". Personally I've liked this kid every
since his
outstanding appearance with Bleek on 1000 Bars.(D.J Clue - This
Is It part
1)I mean he went for almost 100 straight. Then he came tight on
Money, Cash,
Hoes remix. After that he was on numerous mixtape appearances
by himself,
with his label mates, and with many other Philly Cats. All his
dawgs are
signed and a lot of the credit goes to him.
"Give me just a second/my flow ain't yet
perfected/but damn
when it is, shit the winner is…."
Beanie Lp consist of 13 tracks that are all hot for the
most part. He
does a great job of mixing different types of songs and subject
matters. He
also does a good job of limiting the guest appearances. There
are only two
appearances by artist other than Jay, Amil, and Bleek. He starts
off with the
title track" The Truth". This is just average Beanie letting
niggers know
that he is just that. From here it goes everywhere. Him and
Bleek pop shit on
"Who the Fuck want What". Both Beans and Bleek come hard on this
one. Bleek
steps his game up for this one. He lets Jay know" Put your feet
up Hova/we
got you nigga. They'll definitely have niggas wondering
"Damn where Jay find these niggers"
On "Raw and Uncut" The jigged-one himself makes an
appearance. What can
you say. The beat is funky and these niggers rip it. I know
ya'll already
know about "Mac-Man", "What a Thug about", and "Die"(it used to
be called
"the Cage") Eve stops by for "Remember Them Days", where he
takes us on a
trip down memory lane. Only complaint I have about this one is
that Eve only
sings the hook. I was hoping for another hot one like "Philly,
Philly". An
unusual pairing with Scarface turns out to be one of the best
tracks on the
albums. As they go back and forth you can feel it. Those who
like Scarface
and those who don't will have to hit this one back. On 'Playa",
Amil and
Jay comes through. What can you say, Amil is …Amil and Jay,
while his verse
is average Jay, just comes too short; his verse that is. It is
too short.
"What your Life Like" and "Ride for My" are two of the best
things I've heard
him on and I've heard a lot of Beanie. You can feel the pain in
his voice as
he talks about life and his niggers. This is one of the best
songs that I've
heard that cats have made about their niggers.
He lets his niggers know "My niggers ya'll don't owe
me shit ya'll
showed me love" "I'ma ride wit my niggers/die wit my niggers/get
high wit my
niggers/flip pies wit my niggers/till my body get hard soul
tough the sky/
till my number get called God shut my eyes" Look out for the
General cause in
a minute he's going to be everywhere. Most of ya'll probably
can't handle
"The Truth"
