Because last years hike to Kahana Valley was so well attended and liked I planed to do it again at about the same time of the year. Last year the valley was choked with mountain apples and I was looking forward to digging my teeth in to them again. Follow this link to read about and see pictures from last years hike by both me and George.

The plan was to meet at the visitor center around 9:30 a.m. and then proceed to the parking area outside the new housing area. By 9:50 not everyone who said they were coming showed up, and we figured that they just couldn't make it. Here is a shot of the group as we begain.
First there is a walk thru the housing area and then up a Bd of Water Supply road to the trail head.
