After passing the "palms" we crossed a small stream, and climbed a small ridge covered in uluhi. From the ridge top the view mauka was fantastic as you can see in this panorama. Remember to use your horizontal scroll bar to see all of the picture.
Coming down from the summit on the left you can see the results of an unbelieveable amount of water washing the rock clean of soil and plants. Check out the closeup:
