Æsop's Fables

"The Water Vessel"
Once, a thirsty crow happened by a vessel of water which was half full.
Being quite thirsty he tried to quench his thirst with its contents only
to find that he could not reach the water with his beak. At that point
the crow devised a brilliant plan. He began to fill the pitcher with small
stones. The more stones he dropped into the vessel the higher the water
rose until at last the water was high enough for him to drink his fill.
