Ęsop's Fables

"The Lion and the Hare"
There
once was a lion who was out looking for a meal when he came upon an unsuspecting
hare sleeping on the ground. The lion was about to pounce on the hare when
out of the corner of his eye he caught site of a large stag wandering through
the forest. At once he set after the stag.
After a long chase the stag proved
to swift for the lion who eventually gave up. It was at this point that he
remembered the sleeping hare, and headed back to the place where he left the
sleeping creature. When he reached the spot however he found that the hare
was no longer resting there. Realizing he had lost an easy meal he
grumbled to himself, "I should have been content with what I had rather
than seeking out something better.

"Be content with what you have."
