Chapter 7

"Please!"

"No!"

"Please!"

"No!"

"Pleeeaaase!"

"NO!"

"Zac," Avery whined.

"Avie, I'm not playing barbies with you," Zac stated and went back to his video game.

"Why not? You used to," she said, in the same whiny voice.

"Because I don't want to".

"No one ever plays with me anymore," she whined and ran out of the room. Zac thought about going after her to apologise.Nah, he thought, she'll be ok. Taylor turned out of the hallway and started down the stairs, jumping them in threes.

"Whoa!" he exclaimed when he almost crashed into his little sister who was sitting on the bottom step."Sorry Avie-baby, didn't see you there," he said. She just sat there silent.

"Hey, what's wrong?" he asked concerned. He sat down on the step next to her.

"Nothing," she said, looking away from him. He got a glance of her face and noticed a tear running down her cheek.

"Come on Ave, you can tell me, what's wrong," he asked sweetly. Avery turned to face Taylor.

"I'm bored," she said.Taylor smiled.

"Oh, is that all," he said.

"Yeah, no one will play with me".

"Well, where's Jess and Mackie?"

"Jess's at Katie's and Mackie went out with mummy," she said, another tear running down from her eye, it stopped when it came to her nose.

"Well, what about Ike and Zac?"

"Ike went to Steve's and Zac said he won't play with me".

"Well, I'll play with you," he said innocently.

"Really?" Avery's face lit up immediatly.

"Yep, what do you want to play?"

"Barbies!?" Taylor winced at the thought, but seeing the excited look on his little sister's face he quickly agreed.

"Yeah...sure....barbies".

"YEY!!" she cried and jumped up off the stairs. "Come on!" She took Taylor's hand and pulled him up. Taylor picked her up by her waist and halted her over his shoulder. Avery started giggling as Taylor carried her into the lounge room. He then plonked her on the couch next to Zac.

"Hey, watch it," he said, keeping his eyes on the tv screen. Tay and Avery looked at each other and rolled their eyes. Avery grabbed her favourite 2 barbies.

"Here Tay, you can have Kira and I'll have Tereasa," she said handing Taylor a black haired barbie.

"Ooh wow, Tay. You get to be Kira," said Zac sarcastically.

"Hey man, there's nothing wrong with Kira," said Tay, for Avery's benefit.

"Don't you like Kira, Zac?" Avie asked as she got out a tiny brushed and started brushing her doll's hair.

"Sure he does," said Taylor. "He's just jealous cos I get her and he doesn't".

"Oh, you can have Stacey if you want," Avery offered Zac.

"I'll be right," said Zac.

"Oh I forgot. Ever since Zac became a teenager, he's too cool for barbies," said Tay, "aren't you Mr Mature?"

"Shut up," said Zac. "No! No! Don't! Ohh! See what you made me do? I just lost".

"Cool, now you can play with Stacey," said Tay chucking the doll at Zac.

"Gee, thanks," said Zac.

"No problem man," answered Taylor.

"Oh my god, they're playing barbies," said Walker as he walked into the room to see two of his teenage sons holding Kira and Stacey dolls.

"Hey, it's not as if I have a choice in this," said Zac.

"Yeah, that's what they all say," said Tay, laughing.

"Well, you're in a good mood," said Walker shocked at Taylor's change of attitute.

"Yeah, what's wrong?" said Zac, grabbing Kira from Tay. He started having a battle between Kira and Stacey, making strange punching noises as he went.

"Nothing's wrong," he answered smiling.

"How are things with Sarah?" Walker asked.

"Fine, why wouldn't they be?" Tay answered.

"The fact that she was pissed and on crack and getting with like 6 other guys?," Zac muttered.

"Shut up," said Tay, bitterly.

"Sorry," said Zac, "I didn't mean it".

"Why was she on a crack?" asked Avie who was sitting inbetween her brothers. Ignoring Zac's comment, and chuckling at Avery's, Walker replied,

"Well, that's good".

"Yeah," said Tay grabbing his doll off Zac and smiling.

"Where is Sarah?" asked Avery.

"At her house I guess, why?" said Taylor.

"She hasn't come over to play with me in ages".

"She will, she's just been busy".

"Good, I want to show her my new ballet barbie," said Avery smiling. Taylor smiled. He loved how Avery absolutely idolized Sarah. It was so cute. Sarah loved it too, cos she doesn't have any brothers or sisters. It was just her and her mum.

"Well, I gotta go fix the sink," said Walker. "Anyone want to help?"

"Sorry dad, but Kira awaits," said Tay, "But since Zac doens't really want to play..."

"Are you kidding?" said Zac. "If I'm not here to play Stacey who knows what you'll make her do. Sorry dad, wish I could help. Seriously," he said trying to sound sincere.

"Yeah, sure you are," said Walker and he walked into the kitchen with a small chuckle.Zac looked down at his doll.

"My god Stacey, what are you wearing? We gotta get you changed," he said looking through the massive stack of barbie clothes on the floor.

"Yeah, you just want to take her clothes off so you can check out her boobs," said Tay laughing.

"Oh yeah man," said Zac sarcastically.

"Hey!" Walker called out from the kitchen. "Keep those barbie games a 'G' rated event please".
