Chapter 4

Once they were inside they all quickly found their seats. Just in time too, cos the supporting band was getting ready to play.Taylor stood up.

"I'm going to get a drink," he told the others, "Anyone want anything?"

Everyone shook their heads saying "No, thanks Tay". So Taylor started off walking to find somewhere where he could get a drink.

"Tay, wait up," called Ike as he jogged to catch up with him, "Second thoughts, I will get a drink".

"I can get it," offered Taylor.

"Nah, that's ok, I'll come with ya," said Ike. The two brothers walked together over to the food and drinks area.

"So, what's the real reason Sarah didn't come?" Ike asked.

"What do you mean? She had an assignment to do," said Taylor.

"Man Tay, you must be dating one hell of a square," Ike stated laughing.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" asked Taylor.

"Well, gee, every time you guys are supposed to go out she's got some assignment or project to do or some stupid test she's got to study for," said Ike.

"God, what's so wrong with that. Like I said to mum, she just cares about her work," Taylor protested.

"Ok, fine, sorry I brought it up," said Ike, "but she's still a square," he laughed.

"Yeah, but she's a cute square," Taylor laughed back. Ike nodded to agree."Anyway," said Taylor, "At least I have a square".

"I could have a square if I wanted one, I just don't want one," said Ike.

"Sure Ike, sure," said Taylor, laughing.

"I don't," said Ike.

"Sure," Taylor repeated.

"Shut-up," Ike said shoving Taylor.

"Ike, you're the biggest square I've ever met," said Taylor.

"Fuck off, I'm no square," Ike said shoving Taylor again.

"Sure Ike, su..."

"Quit it with the 'sure's would ya," Ike said.Taylor kept laughing. They finally got to the counter. Taylor ordered first.

"Hi, can please have a........" Taylor trailed off. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. Across the room with a bunch of guys, that Taylor only knew a few of, stood Sarah. She was laughing and practically leaning all over them.

"What's wrong?" Ike asked and followed Taylor's gaze.

"So much for that assignment". Taylor walked across the room over to where his so-called 'girlfriend' and a bunch of guys were standing. Once he was standing amongst them all, she still was too busy laughing with the guys that she didn't even notice Taylor was standing there. I don't believe this, he thought, she's actually flirting with these guy. What the hell is going on? "Sarah," he said. She still didn't notice him. "Sarah," he said again.Still nothing. "Sarah!" Taylor this times raised his voice. Sarah turned around to see who had called her name.

"Yes?" she replied to anyone, then realised Taylor was there.

"Tay, what are you doing here?" she asked a smile on her face. She was genuinely shocked that he was there.

"You knew I was coming here, we were supposed to come here together remember?" said Taylor. He couldn9t believe Sarah would ask such a dumb question.

"Oh yeah," Sarah said, followed by a slight chuckle. All the guys, about 5 of them were now standing around Taylor and Sarah, with them in the middle. They looked Taylor up and down wondering what the hell he was doing there, as if he had no right to be there or he didn't belong. The thing was, Taylor knew that at least 3 of them knew that Taylor and Sarah were going out.

"Sarah, I thought you weren't coming," said Taylor.

"Huh?" asked Sarah. Taylor could see she was more interested in flirting with some guy next to her than talking to Taylor. But still Taylor continued.

"I thought you weren't coming cos you had some school assignment to do," said Taylor.

"Oh yeah, well I couldn't be bothered doing it, so I decided to come anyway," she said smiling.

"Why didn't you call me?" asked Taylor.

"Well, ya see, I was going to but Jeff rang me first, so I couldn't," she said motioning to the guy beside her, as if that was a logical answer.

"I don't get it?" said Taylor. The 5 guys let out a small chuckle and so did Sarah, as if this was just a simple and plain joke but Taylor was just too dumb to understand it.

"Well, Jeff rang and asked me if I would come to the concert with him, so of course I had to say yes," she said.

"Why?" asked Taylor. Sarah rolled her eyes,

"Well it would have been kind of rude of me to say no now wouldn't it?" The guys all laughed again but Taylor didn't find it funny at all. Taylor felt uncomfortable talking to Sarah with all these guys surrounding them.

"Well, where are you sitting?" asked Taylor.

"Um," she thought about it for a while, "I don't know," she finally answered.

"You don't know?" said Taylor.

"Nup," said Sarah laughing. Taylor could tell that she was acting strange.

"What's wrong with you?" he asked her.

"What do you mean? Nothing is wrong with me, I'm fine," she said laughing.

"Well, why don't you come sit with me and the others, I've got your ticket here," he pulled Sarah's ticket out of his pocket.

"Babe, I can't, I'm here with Jeff, remember?" said Sarah.

"But we planned this weeks ago, I don't get it, what's wrong on with you?" he asked. Taylor was getting very frustrated. He didn't understand why Sarah couldn't just give him a straight answer and talk to him normally.

"There's nothing wrong with me, stop asking me that!" Sarah snapped at him very harshly.

"I can't sit with you ok, I'm here with Jeff," she said. Just then a guy popped his head around an exit door and called out

"Hey!" Jeff grabbed Sarah's hand and started pulling her away from Taylor towards the guy at the door. The other guys went as well. Who does this guy think he is? thought Taylor, Sarah is my girlfriend, not his, what right does he have to take her hand and pull her away from him, and why is Sarah letting him?

"Oops," said Sarah, "looks like we're leaving, later babe," she said as she allowed Jeff to drag her away.

"Sarah," Taylor called after her. He started jogging after them as they went through the exit door. Just as he was about to follow them through it, the guy at the door stood in front of Taylor, blocking his way. He stared at Taylor giving him a dirty stare. Taylor realised that the guy was massive compared to him, so he decided to back off. When Taylor turned around he saw Ike standing, looking at Taylor, confused. Taylor walked up to Ike, but then kept going and walked past him. Taylor was so mad at Sarah. He didn't know why she was acting the way she was. Ike caught up to his brother and walked along side him, trying to keep up with Taylor's fast pace.

"What happened?" Ike asked.Taylor didn't answer him. "Where are you going?" Ike asked. Ike stopped walking and watched as Taylor stormed off towards the Maybee Centre exit doors."Tay!" Ike called.

"I'm going home!" Taylor called back not even looking back at his brother. Ike stood there until Taylor had completely left the hall and was out of sight.
