"So, who are we picking up first?" Diana called.
"Jason and Mike," Zac called back.
"Where does Mike live?," she asked.
"Miles away, but he's staying at Jason's," he replied.
"Oh, alright then," said Diana.
"So, we going to Jason's are we?" asked Walker.
"Yep!" Zac called.
"Ok," said Walker. As they were driving along Taylor heard a tiny 'psst'ing noise in his hear.
"Pssst", he heard it again."Taylor," he heard a tiny voice whisper. He turned his head to the side to see Avery's head about 10 cm away from his.
"What?" Taylor whispered back. She motioned for him to come closer. He leaned closer and she cuffed her hands around her mouth and talked into his ear.
"Do you and Sarah really swap spit?" she asked innocently. Taylor began to quietly laugh at his sister's question. She continued to look at him in all seriousness waiting patiently for an answer.
"No," Taylor answered, "Why would we do that? That's gross". Taylor crinkled up his noise and so did Avery.
"Good," she answered, quite releived. She leaned back in her seat, so Taylor did too. Gradually Walker drove to each of the boys' friends' houses and they all piled into the car making it more choc-a-block than it was in the first place. Finally they arrived at the Maybee Centre. As they all, one by one, stepped out of the car Zac asked
"Why didn't they have it at night?".
"Cos it's an all ages gig," Ike replied.
"So, it would have been cooler at night, it seems stupid having a concert during the daytime," said Zac.
"Zac we've had heeps of concerts during the day," said Ike.
"Yeah, but they were outdoor gigs, this one's in a proper thing," Zac continued.
"Does it really matter?" asked Taylor getting sick of the conversation, "A concert's a concert. Who really gives a sh..."
"Taylor!" Walker said sternly, "Not around the little ones, ok?"
"Yeah, ok," Taylor said.
"What little ones?" Avery called from the back of the van.
"You little ones," said Zac pointing to Avery, Mackenzie and Jessica.
"I'm not a little one," Avery protested.
"Yeah you are," said Zac shutting the car door.
"AM NOT!" they all heard Avery's muffled voice yell. Zac walked over to Mike, Jason and Josh who were mucking around doingsomething.
"Ok, now you guys, if you're going to split up, make sure you make a meeting place so you can find eachother after the concert. We don't want to be waiting around or looking for you guys all afternoon," said Diana.
"Are we giving you all a lift home?" Walker asked to their friends. Everyone nodded. "Well then, we'll pick you all up here at......how's two, does that give you guys enough time to do what you want?"Walker asked.
"Yep, that's fine," said Ike standing next to his friend Steve and Steve's girlfriend Casey.
"I'm so excited, I haven't seen Admiral Twin in concert for ages," said Casey.
"I wish it was over already," said Taylor in a plain and bored tone as he put his shades on.
"I thought you really wanted to come to this," said Steve to Taylor.
"Yeah, but that was before he got ditched for a book report," Zac cracked.
"Fuck off," said Taylor.
"Taylor!" Walker raised his voice much more sternly this time. Taylor just looked away.
"Ok, does everyone have a watch? Zac what about you?" Diana asked.
"No," he answered.
"Why not, where is it?" Diana asked.
"The band broke," said Zac.Diana sighed.
"I've got a watch," said Mike.
"Ok, good, make sure you guys aren't late back," said Diana. All eight kids started walking from the car to the Maybee Centre entrance.
"Ok, have fun," Diana called out. "Tay," she said to Taylor as he started to walk away.
"Yeah?" he asked.
"You sure you're ok?" she asked. she could tell that her son was upset. Usually at this time before going to the concert Taylor would be the energetic one telling everyone to get off their butts so they could hurry up and get inside.
Taylor sighed, "Mum, I'm fine, really,".
"Well, have fun then," she said.
"How can I? I'm stuck with Zac's friends' pathetic jokes and watching Steve and Casey making out for 2 and a half hours," said Taylor.
"You know, you could always actually watch the concert," said Diana.
"Yeah I guess," Taylor answered a tincy smile on his face.
"Just try and have fun ok?" his mum said.
"Yeah, I will," said Taylor. He then turned around and slowly walked after the others towards the entrance. He knew the following hours were going to be the most depressing and boring hours in his life. It wasn't the same without Sarah. They had planned to come here together. Now he's stuck with his brothers and their goofy friends. Not that he minded his brothers, or their friends for that matter, except for Jason, for some reason he always seems to piss Taylor off. Oh well, he thought It's not like I can do anything about it. Finally he caught up to the others and they walked into the hall together.
