IS THE NEW HOME OF
THE GREAT BIRMINGHAM POETRY SLAM.
We are happy to call LODESTAR the new home of
the Slam here in Birmingham,  and feel that we will
be here for a very long time.

LODESTAR is one of the best hometown bookstores I have seen in a very long time.  They have a great selection of not only poetry but other books that are an intrest to the community.  LODESTAR  is a local owned book store and the best thing about this is that they keep the community in mind when stocking there great supply of books.  They have been a supporter of poetry here in the Birmingham area for a very long time and welcomed  us with open arms when we fell upon the need for a new venue.  We ask that you show your support for them since they are supporting us so greatly, so the next time you are in the need for a good book check out LODESTAR BOOKSTORE first before you go corporate.  LODESTAR cares for the community because they are part of the community, and this being so they support us...the artist...here in the community, go by and say thanks and buy a book.

The Great Birmingham Poetry Slam is a living breathing creature and this being so it is always seeking out the best place to live like the rest of us.  Over the past year or so The Slam has jumped from one venue to another, and  we are happy to say than we have no found a new venue but a new HOME since Doodles.
