Step 1
Blow up a balloon and knot the end. Brush glue on the top of the balloon and start to wind the yarn in a circular fashion. Hold the yarn in place as the glue dries, and brush some glue over the coiled up yarn as well. Make sure the glue dries and the yarn sticks before going too far. Brush the glue on a little at a time and continue winding the yarn around the balloon, making larger circles as you go. Always making sure the yarn is sticking to itself and the balloon. Only wind the yarn around the top half of the balloon and continue brushing glue over the top as you go. |
Step 2
At the halfway point stop winding the yarn around the balloon, and switch to winding it top to bottom to make a handle. Brushing glue on the top of this as well. Set the basket balloon upside down on a glass refering to the diagram to the left, and let dry over night. |
Finished Basket
The next day, pop the balloon and remove it. Be careful not to squish this basket too hard so your string doesn't separate. |
String Egg
| This egg is very similar to the basket above. You cover the entire balloon with glue and string continuing until you san barely see the balloon under the string. Let dry and pop and remove the balloon the next day. These make great centerpieces. Make a few in varying sizes and colors ! |
