I have been painting in this area of the country for nearly 20 years. I was attracted to the beauty of the area and moved up from southwestern Connecticut to the tristate corner and began substitute teaching. I began to refine my art skills when I was very young in an artistic family. I continued my studies at Cooper Union College of Art and Architecture, NY, NY in the late ‘60s. There I was the art editor of WIN Magazine. I traveled around the country with "The Newsreel" during the anti-war movement. I returned to my home in western Connecticut where I raised my daughter and earned a living. I earned a degree in education at Western Connecticut State University, Danbury CT in 1975.

I worked in teaching there until I moved upstate in the 90's where I began substitute teaching and began painting again. I have exhibited my work at Richter Park in Danbury, CT; Paint the Town, Art at the Dump, The Ambrosia Tea Room and the Rose Algrant Show in West Cornwall, CT; The Gallery of Dreams in Falls Village, CT; The Institute For World Affairs Peace Festival and The Taconic Post Office in Taconic, CT; Harvest Bakery and High Strung Jewelry in Lakeville, Ct; East-West Arts, Millerton, NY, and The World Peace Festival in Amenia, NY.

I had a one woman exhibition in July of 1998 at the Lakeville office of the Salisbury Bank and Trust Company. I have traveled in all of the 48 contiguous states and a number of the pieces shown there were from a series of watercolors from my western travels. I had two shows at the Millerton, NY Library, one with my mother, Muriel Capellaro in 2001 and a one woman show in 2003. My work there included paintings from travels in the western United States. In 2004 I had a one woman show at the Hunt Library in Falls Village, CT entitled “From My Window”. In 2007 I showed at the Douglas Library in Canaan, CT. I had a show in June, 2009 at the Sharon Town Hall Gallery. I had a show at the Millerton NY Library in October of 2009. In 2010 I joined the 14th Colony Artists, a local artist co-op and have participated in four group shows in Millerton NY. I have participated in the Small Works show at Noble Horizons in Salisbury, CT for the last four seasons. Member of The 14th Colony Artists, Millerton, NY

I have taught Origami and Arts and Crafts to children and adults. I have conducted Origami workshops at the Institute of World Affairs Elder Hostels in Taconic, CT and Region One Arts Day, At Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, CT. I worked as the Arts and Crafts Coordinator at the 2000 Northeast Center, Environmental Camp in Millerton, NY. I taught Origami and Arts and Food Crafts at the Region One Summer Enrichment Program from 1999 to 2006. I have also taken part in the East-West Arts mask workshop in Warren and Morris CT Schools. I taught an origami workshop in Yachats, OR in 2001. I held a kite making workshop at the Hunt Library in Falls Village, CT and East West Arts , Millerton, NY. I taught Arts and Crafts at the Sharon After School Enrichment program from 2004 to 2013.
