"So what's up with you today?" Arie asked as he sat down the breakfast table.
Stilling, Dahven sat there staring at her breakfast. She had thought that she was hungry, and had ordered a big breakfast from Rosie.
But when she had set it before her and Arie sat down, she no longer felt hungry. Nauseated, she remained silent and continued to stare at her plate of food.
This was like a ritual for them now. Every morning Dahven would wake up earlier and earlier, come down for breakfast, order it, and lose her appetite because Arie would always come and eat with her. Trying to get her to talk to him.
But how could she talk to some one who had betrayed her so much?
First, he had wanted to send her to a private school for girls, without even talking it over with her. Second, he let their parents, who were divorced and had no control over them anymore, plan her future. Third, when she and him had made a promise not to do what their parents had done, he got a divorce from his wife Essence.
And they weren't even married a year! She screamed to herself. They knew each other for even less time than they were married.
Her stomach stretched and tightened into knots as the feeling of sickness over-whelmed her.
Standing quickly, she ran for her bedroom and nearly lost it a couple times on the stairs. Getting inside safely, she locked the door behind her and rushed to her bathroom. Sitting before the toilet, the sickness squeezing her stomach started to lessen.
Breathing a sigh of relief, Dahven sat back tiredly. "I hate getting sick." She murmured before getting back up and walking into her room. Still a little dizzy but otherwise okay.
Her phone had been ringing incessantly, and before it could worsen her headache she quickly picked it up. "Hello?" She asked softly.
Her eyes widened and she smiled brightly. All thoughts of feeling sick and dizzy and her headache were a distant memory. "Isaac!" She squealed happily. "Hey, why'd you get back so early?"
"Isaac, we just got in. Where are you running to?" Mrs. Hanson asked as she started to feed Zoë some of her baby food.
He smiled at his mom. "I need to call D." He replied as he continued his journey to the phone. He beat Taylor to it, which was also trying to get to the phone before anyone claimed it.
"Ha!" Isaac said sticking his tongue out at Taylor.
Taylor rolled his eyes and stuck his tongue out at him too.
"Real mature guys." Zac said as he walked into the kitchen. "Gives me something to look up to. A real good influence." He said nodding his head.
Isaac and Taylor laughed as Isaac dialed the oh-so-familiar number. It rang four times before it got picked up. "Hey, D." He said excitedly. "I just got back a few minutes ago, but we're gonna be leavin' again soon. In the next few minutes to be exact actually." He said looking at his watch.
"We just needed to get a few things and then we're on our way to New York." He said a little disappointed that he wasn't going to spend any time with her.
They didn't even get to spend Valentine's Day together. Their first Valentine's as a couple and it was spent apart. But they did however rack up a hefty fifty-dollar phone bill talking on the phone that day. So it was better than nothing.
"It'd be great if you could come!" Isaac said enthusiastically when she mentioned that she needed a vacation. "Why do you need a break from Arie? Is he still trying to get you to talk to him? Are you still ignoring him?" He asked and she answered all of his questions.
Taylor and Zac started to pretend that they were Isaac and Dahven.
"Oh, I miss you sooo much, D!" Taylor said in a deep voice. "You have to come to New York! You complete me!"
Zac smiled. "I miss you too!" He said in a high pitched girly voice. "And I'd love to come to New York! And you complete me!" He said as he pretended to wipe away imaginary tears.
They both hugged each other and started laughing hysterically. Isaac watched this in amusement and started laughing. He laughed even more when Dahven commented on their performance.
"Hey, Zac?" Isaac called to his younger brother.
"What?" Zac said pushing Taylor off him. "Man, get off me." He said dusting off his clothes. "I don't want your cooties."
"D says her voice isn't that high." Isaac said laughing.
Taylor started laughing too. Zac just shook his head and walked out of the kitchen.
"I better go now, D." Isaac said as he father walked in and tapped his watch. He nodded his head saying that he understood. "I love you." He said softly, and his heart soared when she said that she loved him too. "Bye." He whispered before he hung the phone. He stood there next to it and was quiet.
"Isaac?" Taylor asked as he waved his hands in front of his face. "Ike? Ike?!" He shouted.
Isaac snapped out of his trance. "What?" He asked giving Taylor an annoyed and confused look.
Taylor opened his mouth to give a sarcastic remark, but then quickly snapped it shut. "Nothing." He said shaking his head and leaving.
"Weird boy." Isaac said as he went to his room and gathered some new stuff that he needed for this next trip they was taking.
Dahven walked around her room as she started to get bored. She had packed a little bit for her trip, but she wanted to do more than just go to New York. Yeah, Isaac would be there, but she wanted to do more. He was probably going to be busy with music and interviews to spend a lot of time with her. It didn't bother her. In fact she loved it. She loved watching him practice and seeing him in magazines, and on covers, and watching him on the TV screen. It was a rush, and she loved it. But she loved him too.
Sighing, Dahven stared at her computer. She got it after Isaac had told her how cool the Internet was. Being computer challenged she needed him to tell her all there was that she was supposed to know about it. She even ended up calling him at all hours because she messed up or something went wrong and she didn't know what to do.
Deciding to sit down and fool around a bit she signed on and saw that her best friend from Pennsylvania was on. She smiled and Instant Messaged her.

Dahven signed off and sighed to herself. She and Miranda, A.K.A. Randa, or Randy had been talking over the net for over a month and they wanted to meet each other for a long while.
"Hmm, I hope she can come back with me." Dahven said as she started to pack a little of her clothing.
