Q: Do you know how to say 'F*ck you' in California?
A: 'Trust me.'
TRUST:
A nice topic to talk about. It fits my mood at the moment.
I do believe that in the short time period of midnight last night, and I think two o'clock this morning, I have become more cynical and cold-hearted. If I do indeed, still have a heart.
It's amazing, you're with a friend for so many years and you pledge/give your soul to them, (first mistake evidently, don't do that.) Then you make future plans together, (second mistake, don't do that.) You know them so well, you feel as if they are your other half, (third mistake, don't do that.) And then, you trust them with your life, your heart, and your soul, (that's your fourth, don't ever do that.)
I don't know, maybe because it just happened to me, I feel as if everything I've given my "friend" was just shoved back into my face. You know, as if it doesn't matter anymore, or perhaps it never did at all. This could be quite true, and it's probably how I'm going to view it in my mind for the rest of my life.
You say "trust me" and they do for so long. Then it's like, one day, something happens (that was out of your control, and you had absolutely nothing to do with) and they no longer trust you. They have to ask if they can… and that's like a slap in the face!
If someone asks you if they can trust you, be sure you want to know what they say, and for god's sake, keep it to yourself! If you find yourself asking someone if you can trust them… well, I hope, for your sake, they do.
Trusting someone enough to hold a secret is a big risk. And usually you have a lot to lose.
However, being trusted, is an honor and a privilege, don't abuse it.
If you're going to trust someone, trust yourself... but even that can backfire.
