Chapter 4

Once she finally got home, Dahven grabbed her bag and ran inside.
Taking in a deep breath, she shouted, "Lucy! I'm home!"
"Oh, honey, would you come into the living room please." Kasha called back.
Dahven jumped, not expecting an answer. She laughed, "Sure be right there!"
Throwing her bag over her shoulder, she started running as fast as she could.
She arrived in the living room a minute later, Slightly breathless, "Yeah?" She asked weakly.
"Sit down!" Syrus instructed instantaneously. "And why is your hair like that?"
Refusing his request, Dahven touched a few of her small braids. " 'Cause I had it done this way." She replied shaking her head.
"Don't get smart with me." Syrus stated roughly.
Dahven just shrugged her shoulders. "Well, I did. I didn't just wake up one morning and my hair was like this. Um, besides, my hair has been like this for almost two months now. And like you would know if I were getting smart with you!"
"I'm glad you take notice in everything. Daddy." She added on harshly.
Syrus stood up quickly. "Now, you listen to me." He started angrily.
Dahven sat down and stared at him, unblinking, and unmoving. "What's wrong, Daddy? Don't like me pointing out you obvious flaws?"
Arie looked at Dahven confused. She's going to get herself killed. He thought to himself. 'What are you doing?' he mouthed.
Dahven only ignored him and looked back at Syrus. "I'm late to my destination. Arie. Kasha. Daddy." She said narrowing her eyes on him before she ran back outside.
She opened the garage and got inside her V.W. convertible. She backed down the driveway; careful not to hit Arie's Porsche, and waved good bye to Syrus, Kasha, and Arie who was watching her go from the door.

"Is she okay?" Julia asked when Isaac walked back in.
He nodded. "She's okay. She just needed to go home." They were silent for a moment. "Wanna start early on our date?" He asked smiling.
Julia nodded and stood up. "That's a good idea."
Standing up from their spots as well, Taylor and Zac were walking back into their room after their little spying stunt on Isaac and Julia.
"Tay, I know how you said that we were going to go on Ike's date tonight. But that's when we thought that it would be Charm's revenge. But it's not. It's Julia. And I just don't wanna go!" Zac said shaking his head furiously.
Taylor laughed, "I'm not gonna go either!" He replied before going to his computer and sitting down. "I think that there is somethin' up with Charm."
"What do you mean?" Zac asked, concern etched into his face now.
Taylor shrugged. "I don't know, but I am going to find out. She was acting real weird before she left."
Zac looked at his brother and shook his head. Then he went over to his sketchpad and started doodling on a pic him and Isaac started on the road.

~ Dahven's Car Ride ~

After driving around aimlessly for far too long, Dahven decided to walk around a bit. To expend the nervous energy that had her nerves jumping.
When she smelled tomato sauce, her stomach growled. Reminding her that she hadn't eaten at all today.
Making up her mind that she was about to go into the fine restaurant instead of some fast food joint, she saw Isaac walk with Julia.
She watched as they stopped before they entered the restaurant and hugged each other.
When they kissed and Dahven's heart twisted painfully in her chest.
"Friends?" She asked herself out loud. "Forever?"
Intently Dahven continued to watch them walk inside and she walked back to her car. "Well, at least I am the cause of their happiness. Again." She stated sadly.
She started to put her key in the ignition when she just threw them in frustration. "Why did you bring Julia back?!! Why did you have her father transferred to your parent's firm?!! Why couldn't you just leave things alone?!? Why?! Why?! Why?!" She angrily asked herself over and over again.
Calming down, Dahven found her keys again, and carefully drove home. After throwing that fit she was able to calm her nerves surprisingly quick.
Yet she expected she was only drained and numbing.
"Remember." She told herself sternly as she parked her car in the garage. "They are your friends no matter what." She said closing the garage door. "You have to support them, and be happy for them."
She smiled to herself. "Well, I'll just kinda support them anyway."
When she went upstairs to her room and lay in her bed she didn't even bother to change into her pajamas; she fell asleep.

Isaac walked into his room quietly after just getting in from his date with Julia. It was okay; to him Julia had changed so much and he didn't know if he still liked her. He changed into his pj's and went to bed.
I'll talk to D about it tomorrow. He thought to himself. She'll know what to do. Then he fell asleep not giving Julia another thought; but thinking about how Dahven always seemed to know how to fix things and make them right again.
