Chapter 92

-- The next day at the mall --

"So, is it going to be a fancy or casual date?"  I ask Libby as AJ and I walk with her through the mall.

"Casual."  Libby says.

"Oh OK.  Well, AJ lets get to looking."  I say with a smile.

"I swear, you can shop for any occasion."  AJ says to me.

"I love shopping."  I say.

"You're going to have to go shopping for some new clothes pretty soon too."  Libby says.

"Yeah I know.  The babies are killing my wardrobe."  I say with a smile.

"You still love them though."  AJ says.

"You bet!"  I say.  I spot a cute little outfit in the J.Crew window.

"Oh, check it out girl!"  I say as I run to the store.

"That is really cute."  Libby says.  I walk inside and take the outfit off the rack.  It was a pair of black, button-fly, lowrise, jeans and a mid-drift dark purple shirt.

"Go try it on."  I say handing the clothes to Libby.

"What shoes would I wear with it?"  Libby asks through the dressing room door.

"You can wear my Sketchers."  I tell her.  Libby walks out with the outfit on; it looks adorable.

"You have to get it."  I say.

"I think it needs something to go over it."  AJ says looking around at the clothes.

"Here... I have an idea.  Instead of wearing the purple undershirt, wear a black one.  Then wear this purple poplin shirt over it."  AJ says handing Libby the shirts.

"Well, lets see."  Libby says. After she gets done changing she comes out to model the outfit.

"That's really cute."  AJ and I both say.

"Well, I guess I'll have to get it then."  Libby says smiling.

-- That evening --

Nick, Brian, Sarah, Libby, AJ, and I were sitting in Sarah and my apartment.  We were waiting for Howie, Tiffany, Kevin, and Shena.  Howie was going to pick Libby up at our apartment and Tiffany, Kevin, and Shena were going to stay and watch a movie with us. I walk up to Libby and hand her a silver butterfly necklace.

"Here, wear this."  I say.

"Why?"  Libby asks.

"I wore this the day that I met AJ.  I wore it the day I said yes to going out with AJ.  I wore it the day AJ proposed.  I was also wearing this... well don't get sick about this... but the night AJ and I first made love.  It... it's good luck."  I say smiling.

"Well, I guess so.  You were wearing this while you guys were... eww... I just won't think about it."  Libby says.

--------------------------------------------
-- In the living room --

"So where are they going anyway?  Nick asks.

"Oh my gosh, she'll totally love it."  AJ says.

"Well, where's he taking her?"  Nick asks in excitement.

AJ leans in close to Nick and says, "Well, he's first going to take her out to dinner at a nice; but not too fancy restaurant.  Then he's taking her on a bo..." AJ looks up and see Libby and me standing there.

"Well, keep going.  I'd like to know what I'm doing tonight."  Libby says.

"Um... well it's not my place to say."  AJ says.

"Please tell me."  Libby says.

"Now Lib, wouldn't you rather be surprised?"  I ask her.

"I hate waiting.  I'm so impatient."  Libby says.

"I know."  AJ, Brian, Nick, Sarah, and I all say at once.

"Well, good grief!"  Libby says, "Is it that noticeable?" We all smile.  There's a knock on the door.

"I got it."  I say walking towards the door.  I open up the door and see Howie standing there.  He's wearing a pair of place jeans and a nice brown sweater.

"Wow, aren't we looking sharp?!"  I say surprised.

"Oh be nice to me sis; I'm kind of nervous."  Howie says looking down at the ground.  I walk up to him, hug him, and give him a quick kiss on the cheek.

"I'll be OK bro.  Just take it cool like always."  I say walking him in the apartment.  Tiffany, Kevin, and Shena walk in behind us.  Libby walks out from the hallway and makes eye contact with Howie.

"You look nice."  Howie says.

"You too."  Libby says.

"Well, lets go."  Howie says.

They walk out of the apartment.

--------------------------------------------
-- Later on after eating dinner --

"You ready for the next part of the date?"  Howie asks.

"You bet."  Libby says.

"Well, we're almost there.  So you'll have to close your eyes."  Howie says.

"Why?"  Libby asks.

"Cause it's a surprise."  Howie says.

"OK OK."  Libby says closing her eyes.  Howie puts a black blindfold around her eyes.  After a couple minutes Howie stops the car and gets out.  She hears her door open and feels Howie take her hand.  As she gets out
he puts her hand on her back so she won't loose her balance.  They walk for a while and then stop.

"Where are we?"  Libby asks.

"You'll see in a minute.  Right now I'm going to pick you up so you don't fall here." Howie says.

"Um... OK."  Libby says feeling for Howie's neck so she can hold on.  She feels Howie pick her up and he walks a couple steps.  She feels him wobble a little.  Then he sat her down in a row boat.  She thinks it's just a bench or something.

"Where am I?  When do I get to look?"  Libby asks.

"In a minute in a minute.  Just hold on."  Howie says laughing.  Howie begins to row the boat out onto the small lake.  When they get a little distance  between them and the shore; Howie leans forward and slowly slips Libby's blind fold off. She looks around.

"Oh my gosh; this is so beautiful Howie."  Libby says.
