Chapter 93

Howie keeps rowing the boat slowly.

"You like?"  Howie asks.

"Oh my gosh I love it.  This is so... so... romantic."  Libby says.

"I thought it'd be kind of nice."  Howie says leaning against the oars.

"It's like... like something out of the little mermaid."  Libby says looking around at the water.  She can see the moon reflecting on the water. Howie starts humming the tune to 'Kiss The Girl' then he starts singing.

There you see her,
sitting there across the way.
She don't got a lot to say,
but there's something about her.
And you don't know why,
but you're dying to try,
you wanna Kiss the Girl.

"Oh my gosh Howie."  Libby says shyly as she blushes.

Yes, you want her,
look at her, you know you do.
Possible she want you to,
there is one way to ask her.
It don't take a word,
not a single word,
go on and Kiss the Girl.

Sing with me now.

Libby start to laugh.  After she stops laughing she starts singing softly with Howie.

Sha-la-la-la-la-la, my oh my,
Look like the boy too shy,
Ain't gonna Kiss the Girl.
Sha-la-la-la-la-la, ain't that sad,
Ain't it a shame, too bad
he gonna miss the girl.

Now's your moment,
floating in a blue lagoon.
Boy, you'd better do it soon,
no time will be better.
She don't say a word,
and she won't say a word
until you Kiss the Girl.

Sha-la-la-la-la-la, don't be scared,
you got the moves prepared,
Go on and Kiss the Girl.
Sha-la-la-la-la-la, don't stop now
Don't try to hide it, how
you wanna Kiss the Girl
Sha-la-la-la-la-la, float along
and listen to the song,
the song say Kiss the Girl.
Sha-la-la-la-la-la, music play
do what the music say,
You wanna Kiss the Girl.

"I can't believe you just sang that whole song."  Libby says laying back in the boat and laughing.

"Hey, you did a good job of joining it."  Howie says laughing.  Howie lays the ores down, so that they won't fall into the water.  Then he moves over next to Libby.

Libby looks up at the stars and says, "Well, you couldn't have asked for a better sky tonight."

"You're telling me.  There's not a cloud in the sky; the moon is full and bright; and the stars are beautiful."  Howie says.

"I know they are.  There's so many of them; and I can't find just one that I want to be my wishing star tonight."  Libby says.

"Well, I've narrowed my choices down to two stars."  Howie says looking at Libby.

"Which two are they?"  Libby asks in a confused way.

"The two in your eyes."  Howie says.  An electric shock goes through Libby's body.  She's never heard anything so romantic.

"Oh Howie, you're so sweet."  Libby says.

Howie leans in close to her and presses his lips against hers.  Libby kisses him back. They lay in the boat for a long time; just kissing each other.  They're not realizing that they're floating back to shore.  After about 15 minutes of making out in the boat; Howie
realizes he's getting a bit... excited.  He thinks to himself, 'at least we're in a boat.  That may be a sign that I should... over come this feeling.  As long as we're in the boat; I'll know that we're not supposed to d...'  Howies thoughts are interrupted by the feeling of
the boat hitting the edge of the shore.

"Oh my gosh, what the..."  Libby says as she looks up from the boat.

"It's OK, we just floated back to shore."  Howie says.

He thinks to himself: 'OK?  Is it OK?  With this feeling I'm having; I don't know what's going to happen now that we're on land.'

"Well, I guess the boat rides over."  Libby says standing up in the boat.

The boat wobbles a little and she grabs onto Howie.  He picks her up and carries her on to the land.

"Just because the rides over doesn't mean that the night is."  Howie says looking into Libby's eyes.

Libby starts kissing Howie softly.  With every kiss she gives him; Howie gets more and more excited.  Howie thinks to himself: 'Should I be having these feelings?  I mean, this is my first date with her and I'm wanting to do this.  Is this right?  It's just been so long... would she think bad of me?  Oh, what do I do?'  Howie stands Libby up on the land, still kissing her.  He holds her tight.  He moves his  hands down her back close to her butt.  Libby thinks to herself: 'Oh God, what's happening?  This is our first date; but it's been such a long time.  If I did do something; would he think bad of me?' Libby starts to softly stroke the back of Howie's neck.

"Girl; lets go to my place.  No one's there... they're all at Suzy and Sarah's."  Howie says getting very excited.

Libby sits there thinking for a minute; then she finally agrees.
