We meet the guys, the Bar-B-Que has already started.
“Hey baby, what’s cooking?” I ask Howie in a playful voice.
Howie smiles and says in
a French accent, “Vell Madam, ve ave vhat you American’s call za am-burgerr,
zen ve ave ze stake, and
zen ve ave everyone’s favorrat,
ze ot dog.”
Everyone laughs and I say, “Nice accent, I especially like how you left your H’s silent, and turned your W’s into V’s.”
Sarah adds, “Oh and of course he also made the T’s have a Z sound.”
“Oh I was wanting to know,
can my cousin’s and Derek come to this little cook out, they did come to
spend some time with me?
I’ve been so busy, we’ve
hardly seen each other.” I say
“It’s fine with me, they’re pretty cool guys anyway.” Kevin says
AJ turns to Brian and says softly, “Yeah, I like her cousins, they’re great. But I’m not too sure about that Derek guy that’s with them. I have a funny feeling about him.”
“You’re just jealous because Derek and her used to date.” Brian says
AJ snaps, “NO! It’s not that it’s...”
I walk over to them and ask, “What’s wrong? What are you guys arguing about?”
AJ looks at Brian, then at me, and says, “Oh we’re just arguing about what we’re going to for Christmas this year, I mean it’s coming up next month.”
“You guys shouldn’t argue, especially about my favorite holiday. But since you brought it up, what are you doing, or what are all of us doing?” I ask.
“I hadn’t really thought of anything. What are everyone’s plans?” Sarah asks.
“Well, AJ and I plan on staying here with you and Suzy-Q. Unless you guys planned on going home.” Brian says.
“I plan on staying, and I’m sure Sarah is.” I say looking at Sarah. She shakes her head yes.
Howie and Kevin say, “I’m staying here too.”
We all look at Nick. He says, “As far as I know, I have to stay here. I was told that we are working on the movie, even during Christmas.”
“You mean we have to work on Christmas!?” I yell.
“No, no, that’s not what I meant. I meant that we’re working on it around Christmas, not on Christmas. We get the 23rd, 24th, Christmas, the 26th, and 27th to off.” Nick says. Sarah and I sigh in relief.
“So, what are your plans? Were are you spending Christmas?” Sarah asks.
The guys look at each other and AJ says, “Well, I guess we’ll stay at our apartments.”
I look at Sarah, then the guys, then I say, “No, you’re not. You are all staying at our apartment on Christmas Eve. You can spend the night and we’ll spend Christmas together. I know Howie, AJ, and Kevin can cook; and Sarah and I can cook. So we’ll all get together and cook Christmas dinner. Sarah and I can make the goodies, like fudge and cookies. I can cook a turkey or ham, which ever you prefer.” The guys look like they can already smell the food cooking.
AJ turns to me and asks, “What will the guys and I make?”
“Well there’s mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, pies, and all that good stuff.” I say.
“Stop, you’re making me hungry.” Nick says holding his stomach.
“Well, the foods done, so
you can go ahead and eat now.” Howie says. We all make our
way over to the food to eat.

(A couple days later
in Sarah and my apartment)
“You know, we need to start decorating this place.” Sarah says. “We need to get some garlin, holly, get out the nativity scene and ornaments, the lights, oh and of course we need to get a tree.”
“You left out my favorite
thing.” I say “You didn’t say...mistle toe.”
Sarah and I laugh, I know
she’s thinking the same thing I am. She thinking how much fun this
Christmas is going to be with our boyfriends.
