(At Brian and AJ's apartment)
We all walked into the apartment.
Heather and Aarti stopped by the store to get some food.
"Hey, can I call Shena, Whitney, and
Ashley?" Sarah asks Brian.
"Sure. The more people the more
fun." He says smiling.
I walk into AJ's bedroom and look through
his mountain of CD's. I pull out Boyz2men, Mariah Carey, and (of
course) Backstreet Boys. I take the CD's into the front room and
put in Mariah's Fantasy CD. I push play and the music starts.
Just then there's a knock at the door, it's Shena, Whitney, and Ashley.
They walk in and the party begins.
As the night goes on, everyone seems
to be bonding really good. Brian and Sarah are inseparable, Shena
and Kevin are talking a mile a minute, Ashley is talking to Howie, Nick,
Whitney, Heather, and Aarti. Everyone seems to be having a good time.
Oh, AJ and I are doing good too. It's like the whole fight brought
us closer together.
Around 8:55; the song Anywhere for You
comes on and I silently watch as Brian stands up and asks Sarah to dance.
She takes his hand and he leads her to the middle of the room. She wraps
her arms around his neck as he places his around her waist. As they dance,
they whisper to each other and laugh. Then, Brian pulls Sarah closer
to him and they just sway in rythem with the music. When the song is over
he gives her a gentle kiss and they sit down.
Then a little while later I'll never
break your heart comes on. With a smile on his face, AJ stands up and asks
me to dance. We get out onto the floor and we pull ourselves close
to each other. We press our bodies together and sway to the music.
When the song is almost over there's
a knock at the door and AJ goes to get it, since he's the closest. When
he opens the door a flood of girls rush him. Everyone jumps up.
"Get the guys out of here!" I
yell to Sarah.
She starts them outside the window onto
the balcony. Then they start crawling down the fire escape.
I rush over to try to get the girls away from AJ. Their clawing and scratching
to grab AJ. Struggling to get away, AJ somehow twists his ankle and drops
to the ground. The girls take advantage of the situation and crowd around
him.
"Crap," I mutter and look towards the
fire escape. Brian is the last one and he's not fully out yet. “Brian!"
I scream."Help, AJ twisted his ankle."
Brian stops and looks up. Hesitating
he climbs back into the apartment and makes his way towards me and AJ.
I'm crouching next to AJ in the swarm
of girls when Brian pushes his way through.
"We've got to get him out of here or
he'll be crushed." I yells to Brian
"We've got to get all of us out of here
or we'll all be crushed." Brian says
We try to get the girls away from us
but they won't move. And we can't get AJ to his feet, his ankle hurts
too bad. One of the girls is really clawing trying to get to AJ,
I'm starting to get ticked off. Then she steps on his ankle; he screams
in pain. I grab the girl and push her back into the crowd of girls,
like a domino effect, almost all of the girls fall down. Brian turns
off the lights, so no one can see, and we rush AJ out into the hall.
But the girls follow, just as they almost catch us, Brian pulls us into
an elevator. And pushes the first floor button, and the doors close.
We set AJ on the floor of the elevator, I can tell by the look on his face
that he's in pain.
"Let me take a look at it."
I say to AJ
He moves his Jean leg up and I slip
off his shoe and sock. His ankle is really swollen.
I touch certain parts of his ankle and
ask, "Does that hurt?"
"No." he says
I softly squeeze the back of his ankle
and ask, "What about that?"
In a sharp voice he says, "yes, yes
that hurts!"
"Sorry" I say
"Not your fault." He says with
a half smile
"Brian, I'm sure those girls are going
to meet us when this elevator stops. How are we going to get out
then?" I ask concerned.
He looked at me and shrugged.
"I don't know, I just hope Sarah's OK" He says
"I'm sure she got herself and everyone
else to a safe place" AJ says softly
The elevator is nearing the first floor.
I help AJ stand up and I let him lean his weight on me. Brian moves
to the other side of him to help support him.
I say to Brian, "So, what's the call
boss. Where do we go when those doors open?"
