The stage manager walks onto the stage
and says, "OK next up we have a talent young lady. Her names Suzanna
Patterson. And she'll be singing the song 'Think Twice.' Lets
all give her a hand."
The crowd claps.
I walk onto the stage, with the spotlight
on me. The crowd is packed and I am shaking from head to toe.
I almost turn around and walk off stage, but I decide that this is something
that needs to be done.
I lift the microphone up to my mouth
and say, "I'm not really doing this for the contest. I'm doing this
to prove a point. This song goes out someone that I love more than
life it's self. And before you turn your back on me, babe.
I'd like you to think twice."
The music begins and I start to sing....
"Don't think I can't feel there's something wrong
You've been the sweetest part of my life so long
I look in your eyes, there's a distant light
And you and I know there'll be a storm tonight
This is getting serious
Are you thinking 'bout you or us
Don't say what you're about to say
Look back before you leave my life
Be sure before you close that door
Before you roll those dice
Baby think twice
Baby think twice for the sake of our love, for the memory
For the fire and the faith that was you and me
Babe I know it ain't easy when your soul cries out for higher ground
'Cos when you're halfway up, you're always halfway down
But baby this is serious
Are you thinking 'bout you or us
Don't say what you're about to say
Look back before you leave my life
Be sure before you close that door
Before you roll those dice
Baby think twice
Baby this is serious
Are you thinking 'bout you or us
Don't say what you're about to say
Look back before you leave my life
Be sure before you close that door
Before you roll those dice
Don't do what you're about to do
My everything depends on you
And whatever it takes, I'll sacrifice
Before you roll those dice
Baby think twice"
The music stops and everyone starts to
clap and cheer. I walk backstage to Sarah and the guys. Sarah
smiles at me. I start to feel light headed and I almost fall.
Nick grabs me and walks me over to a chair.
"What's wrong?" Kevin asks
I look at all of the guys and say, "You
know that I'm majorly stage shy. When I get in front of people to
long, I get light headed."
"That must have been hard for you then."
Howie says
Brian looks at me and says, "He must
mean a lot to you."
"He does. He means everything...."
I say cutting off when AJ walks up.
AJ looks at me and the guys.
Brian looks at AJ, then me, and says,
"Hey guys I think we need to give them some time to talk."
They all agree and walk off. AJ
sits in a chair across from me; I try to keep my head towards the ground.
We sit there in silence for what seems like forever, then finally I look
up. AJ's looking straight into my eyes.
"That took a lot out of you didn't it."
AJ finally says
I nod my head yes.
"AJ I know your mad, and I know you
hate me. But honestly it was just a joke. I'm sorry, you know
I love you." I say looking at my feet.
AJ stands up and looks at me, as I begin
to cry. He walks over, sits next to me, and puts his arm around me.
"I don't hate you. I could never
hate you, I love you too much." He says
I throw my arms around his neck and
hug him.
"Ahhhh. Isn't that sweet?"
I hear Kevin say in a soft voice.
AJ pulls away from me a little and says,
"Lets all go to Brian and my apartment. We can have a little party."
"OK" I say
As we all walk out AJ grabs my hand
and holds me back. When everyone's outside, he pulls me close to
him and says, "I love you."
"I love you too." I say
Then we kiss each other.
