I push him away and say, "Aaron please stop.  You know I have someone already."
     "I used to be the only man in your life, what ever happened to that?"  He asks
     I look at him and say, "That went away when you decided to leave me."
     "I'm sorry I kissed you.  I guess I wasn't thinking.  Don't hate me."  Aaron says
     "I could never hate you, I don't think I could ever be even mad at you.  Best Friends remember."  I say with a smile.  "Well, I better get inside, you want to come in?"
     He looks at his watch and says, "No better not, I have to be at work in about ten minutes.  I'll just talk to you later."
     "OK then.  Bye."  I say walking towards the door.
     "Bye"  He says
     When I walk inside the building Heather walks over to me and says, "I saw that.  Why did you push him away?"
     "Because I'm with AJ and I love him."  I say
     "Oh you and AJ are together.  I didn't know that."  She says
     "Yeah.  Hey April Fools is almost over and I still haven't got AJ with a major April Fool's joke.  Got any ideas?"  I ask her.
     She stands there think for a minute and then says, "I've got it.  Use what just happened as a joke.  Tell him that someone kissed you and you kissed them back, instead of saying you pushed him away."
     I look at her and say, "I don't know.  He might get mad."
     "No he won't.  After you tell him he'll be just fine."  Heather says
     "Well, he's not even here right now.  Him and Brian went out and I don't know if they'll be back tonight."  I say trying to get out of it.
     "Call him on his cell phone."  She says handing me hers.
     I dial his number and start talking to him.
     He says, "Oh hey baby what's up?"
     I take a deep breath and say, "I need to tell you something."
     "You know you can tell me anything.  What is it?"  AJ asks
     "Well, Aaron came over tonight.  And...well...he kissed me."  I say
     AJ didn't say anything.
     Then I say, "I kissed him back."
     Just as I was about to yell April Fool's he hung up the phone.
     I look at Heather and say, "He hung up on me."
     Heather says, "Well call him back quick."
     So I dial his number, he picks up, and I say, "AJ let me explain."
     He hangs up again.  I call him again and he won't pick up the phone.  I begin to cry.
     "We have to find him, we can't let this go on very long."  I say running out the door.
      I run out the my car and take off.   I go to all the guys usual spots but they aren't there.  I even go to their apartment.  I spend two hours looking for them.  Finally I decide to wait inside their apartment, since they had given me a key for emergencies.  I wait there for almost an hour when they finally show up.  I jump up from the couch and run over to them.
     "AJ please listen to me."  I say
     "I'm listening."  he says
      "It was an April Fool's joke.  I was just playin'.  It wasn't even my idea."  I say
     He says"Yeah I know."
     I look at him confused and ask, "How?"
     "Sarah and Heather called me looking for you.  They told me what had happened."  he says
     I look into his eyes and ask, "Are you mad?"
     "I'm beyond mad.  I can't believe you would even play a joke like that.  How can I ever trust you?"  He asks quickly
     "It was just a joke, come on.  You play them all the time."  I say getting angry
     AJ points to the door and says, "Leave."
     Brian steps up and says, "Hey man.  Come on, it was just a joke."
     "Leave now."  AJ says
     I start to cry and walk out of the apartment.  I turn around and AJ slams the door in my face.
 

     (When I reach Sarah and my apartment)
 

     Sarah is nearly asleep on the couch when I walk in.  She runs over to me and hugs me.
     "Are you OK?  Brian called and told me the whole thing."  She says
     "He hates me.  The man that I thought would always love me, hates me."  I say through my tears.
     "Well, maybe when he sleeps on it he'll realize he's over reacting."  Sarah says trying to comfort me.  "You need to get some sleep yourself.  We have a big day tomorrow."
     "What are you talking about?"  I ask
     "Remember the guys signed us up for the singing thing.  We have to be there a noon."  She says
     "Oh great.  As if AJ being mad at me isn't stressful enough.  Now I have to sing in front of people"  I say
     Sarah looks at me and says, "Well you don't have to sing.  They didn't sign your name down.  They signed mine.  They just said that you could sing if you want to."
     "Good, cause I'm not singing.  Not after all of this."  I snap
     "Well, will you come to hear me sing.  You always come to hear me sing.  You're my support."  Sarah asks
     I put my hand on her shoulder and say, "Oh course I will."
 

    (The next day at the singing contest)

     I walk behind stage where Sarah and all the guys are.  AJ takes one look at me and walks away.  I feel as though I'm going to cry when I walk up to Sarah.  She gives me a distressed look.
     "What's wrong?"  I ask her
     "I can't do this."  She says in a scratchy voice
     My eyes get big and I say, "What happened to your voice?"
     "I must have gotten sick last night.  Because I woke up with no voice."  She says softly
     "That means you can't sing.  That sucks."  I say
      "Will you do me a favor?"  Sarah asks softly
     I look at her and say, "Sure anything."
     "Sing for me."  Sarah says
     "You know I can't do that."  I say
     She looks at me and says, " No, you can.  You just won't.  You know this could be your chance to show AJ how you feel.  He knows that you're scared to death to be in front of an audience.  Show him that you'd even do something that you'd never do for anyone else, show him you'll for him."
     "But he won't care."  I say feeling as if I could cry
     "He does, he's just hurting."  Sarah says
     Just then a stage manager comes up to us and says, "So which one of you is Sarah?"
     I say, "She Sarah but I'm singing in her place."
     Sarah gives me a smile and says, "Thank you."
     The manager says, "OK what's your name?  And what song do you want to sing?"
     "My names Suzanna Patterson.  And I know exactally the perfect song to sing."  I say
