The Holy Cross Cheerleading team is a competitive all-girl
team
from Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School
in St.Catharines, Ontario
Canada. The squad
competes in the small all-girl division at
most
competitions.
During the 2004-2005
season, the squad was very successful.
In December, the squad received
1st place at the Festival of Lights
Cheerleading
Competition (Music routine), Most Sportsmanship
team,
Stunt Competition Champions (Amanda D, Kallie,
Brittany B and
Katrina S) and the Top Canadian
Cheerleader of the competition was
also a member of the team (Amanda D.)
In
February, the squad competed at the Regional
Cheerleading
Competition and were top finishers in
their division. The squad also
accomplished the highest score
in Holy Cross history, 538.
In April,
the squad competed at the Provincial Cheerleading
Championships
and brought home a third place finish.
In
May 2005, the squad received the highest
honour in Canadian
cheerleading -being crowned
National Champions. The girls placed
1st
in the Small All-Girl Level 2 division. This
was quite the
accomplishment for the 16 member team
- half the team was comprized
of first year cheerleaders.
The squad also participates in many
activities outside of competitions:
football games,
basketball games, fundraisers, pep rallies,
pilgrimidge
and
parades.
The 2005-2006 season will be
another exciting year for the Raider
Cheerleading
team. Tryouts for the team will occur in
early
