It all began with a New Year’s Eve trip to Fresno.

Gene and Rand found their first Boxer, an adorable little girl they named Lucy. By the way, as of August 2015, Lucy is still with us. A little slow at the age of 13 years and 9 months, but still healthy, telling us long stories and completely ruling the house! She was the first of three Boxer pets, the other two being strapping boys, Max and Jake.

The family, including daughter Lisa, saw their passion for Boxers grow as they lived with this noble, family-friendly, playful and handsome breed.
Gene’s long-held desire to show and breed Boxers grew at the same time and he spent many hours on the phone and the computer researching breeders and lines in late 2005 and early 2006. His research paid off when he met a woman who was to become not only a mentor but a dear friend, Sydney Brown of Cayman Boxers. The bond that grew between them led Sydney to entrust Gene (and subsequently Rand and Lisa) with a prized possession, the pick of the litter from her Caymans Sweet Serena and Ch. R-Dan’s Sonny Boy. That little boy, Caymans Sunny Side Up, was born on April 18, 2006 and came to live with his new family 8 weeks later. We named him Chadwick, or Chad, and we were off and running!

Since then we have met and become friends with many outstanding Boxer enthusiasts who have taught and guided us, notably Lynda Yon of Rosend Boxers and Debbie White of Conquest Boxers.

In 2008, with our long-term commitment to the Boxer breed, we founded Grand Boxers and are beginning to start our own line of quality Boxers.

We are active members of the East Bay Boxer Club. Our goal is to breed Boxers that exemplify the standard, both in conformation and personality and we take great care to ensure our Boxers have passed appropriate health tests. But, even more importantly, we are adamant in ensuring that each Boxer we breed, if not in our care, is in a loving and caring home.

While just starting to show, we already have three AKC Champion, including our first homebred champion, Ch. Grand's Blast From The Past:
