Yuffie Kisaragi Possibly the most irritating character invented in any story, Yuffie starts the game as a wasted mini-story and only goes downhill from there. She is discovered in the woods, and after an appropriate conversation with Cloud, she agrees to join the band. However, while in the woods she exhibits many powers and special abilities... not only does she "forget" all these upon joining the group, she also half-inches all their materia! Avalanche are forced to follow Yuffie to her home town, chase her round for a bit before finally getting all their materia back. Aside from that her entire contribution to the story line is feeling sick onboard the Highwind and not being selected for any battles unless it can possibly be avoided. Essentially as far as saving the planet is concerned, Yuffie is as much use as appointing Cait Sith the head of the European Bank. Her mini stories do provide an interesting detour, however, and help to increase Avalanche's strengths and abilities. |
