Cait Sith "Discovered" when Avalanche arrive in the Gold Saucer amusement park, Cait Sith is a seemingly harmless entertainer. Cait Sith himself is a robotic cat, riding on top of a stuffed mog. His hobby, which is as unpredictable as his ability in battle, is fortune telling. In reality, Cait Sith is a Shin-Ra spy, sent to report back on the activities of Avalanche. Although he betrays Avalanche to the Shin-Ra, he later proves himself trustworthy by retrieving the black materia which Sephiroth is searching for to complete his destruction of the planet. It seems that Sith has no choice in helping the Shin-Ra, since they hold his body in Midgar. The animated toysaurus which interacts with the characters is only an extension of his personality. Although this provides some reason behind his allegiances, it does belittle somewhat the sacrifice he makes of himself to retrieve the black materia from the Temple of the Ancients. Especially since he returns in a new body merely a few minutes later. A strange and unreliable individual, Cait Sith is one of the more... exotic creatures to be found in Final Fantasy VII. |
